They have managed to persuade the ever gullible Bok rugby public that there's is the only way to play the game. Imagine that, you defeat your opponent so badly, anything that varies from your game is regarded as wrong. So we have Smith saying only attacking aspects differentiate teams. And Venter telling fans not to watch the games if they don't believe in the vision.
..
We may or may not have the players....we surely don't have the pride and the brains.

Their record did. Not them.
There might be other ways to win at rugby. Yet it must be shown. So far, as history speaks, there is only one winning way.
NZ embraced the means newly provided by professionalism to further and develop their game, think how to win games and build a platform to materialize their ideas.
SA failed to do that. They are well behind. Could SA have taken their own path and produce another way to win rugby games? Useless to think of it since SA did not and are past the point they could take up the project and carry it out.

Moz I frmly believe that the old school saffa rugby was the go for the wee bokke .Enormous immoveable [ if somewhat immobile] forwards with a couple of lightning fast backs and a long range sniper par' excellence' .Grind them down with the forwards ,kick for territory then snipe away at posts .Backs are only there to take advantage of a tiring defence and any other opportunities that come there way .Thats proper Bokke rugger ,not pretty but it did work !

WD.........no reason why our forwards couldn't have improved handling/offloading and the team couldn't work some set moves inside the 22 like the one that saw Folau score last weekend. That would have sharpened the team....no need to foreswear defence as Smith seems to have done, tactical kicking and powerful set pieces.

Mozart, do you really think that SA has the type of forwards needed to execute the forward dominance?
I'm not so sure. I do however believe that a team that starves the ABs of ball can beat them. It's living on the edge though because you need points (even if from the boot) and the ABs can score tries off scraps.
