Summary thus far

Round 1

Only the top 8 seeded players got a bye in Round 1 - the other 8 players have to play in Round 1.   So only two seeded players in the top 10 seeded players - one of which was played already - the other one is being played today.    The one who did play yesterday was Frances Tiafoe who lost his match. -  the other one (Felix Auger-Aliassime) will play today.   Of the remaining 6 seeded players (ie from no 11 to 16) 3 played yesterday and all 3 won their Round 1 matches.   The other 3 seeds will play today.     Of the 8 seeded players - who had to play matches in Round 1 - 4 lost their matches.  So there are 12 seeded players who is going to play in Round 2. 

Round 2    

Rublev did his  ordinary and decided he did not want to play tennis so he lost in Roun 2.   But if that is not enough Tsitsipas and Rune decided tennis in Canada was a disaster and followed suit.  So now we have the situation that of the 8 remaining seeded players 4 weeds will be lucky to survive in the quarterfinals 2  will be gone in the quarterfinals - since they are playing seeded players and 2 other players struggled badly in the games they did win  2 more seeds may be gone as well.    Basically it is a repeat of what happened in 2022 in Toronto/Montreal in 2022 when the unseeded Carreno Busta won in the tournament.    That is unlikely to happen this year - with the final ending up with Alcaraz playing Medvedev in the final.

Congrats to Sinner winning  his first masters title.       

And not a peep about Alcatraz being beaten by Tommy Paul and his petulant racket throwing antics?

Because I know what happened and you know nothing about any s port.   

He lost…that’s what happened.

 Sio did all the other top ten seeds bar Skinner.   It happened last  year as well when an unseeded player - Carreno-Busta won.   The reason - most players found it difficult to adjust to  the USA had court games and for that reason Djokovic decided to skip participation in the Toronto tournament,  If you know anything  about Tennis - and for that matter any other sport - you know about the prolem playes have with the Toronto tournament. and my money is on Alcaraz to win the Championship in Cincinnati.       

Well apparently Tommy Paul had very little difficulty with adjusting. It’s the same for everybody…,Traz was just whipped by the better player on the day, even the grunting never helped,
