What is going on with Ruud and Rune?    The way they are going they will be out of the top ten players soon and will struggle to be in the 8 players going to Turin in a months time.   Rune is still around in that 8 and he will lose up to a 1000 points in a months time if he did not win in the Paris Master's tournament like he dd last year.  A win by Fritz in Japan and doing  well in the next two weeks is all Fritz will need to push him into the  Players Champion final for 2023  in Turin into the number 8 position  .   

Wonder whether Djokovic will play next week in either Vienna or the Swiss Open in Basel?   He did not play in any toruanments leading up to the Paris Maters in  2022 and lost in Round 1 in that tounament.    There are 5 players who ahve secired their participation in Turin already - Djokovic, Alcaraz, Medvedev, Sinner and Ruble - so there are only 3 places left  Tsitsipas is likely to be one of those three positions - but the other two are not at all  clear at this stage. .

I am very disappointed in Fritz's performance todxay.  He ahs won no trophies for near to 18 months and from his performance today it seems he is not matchfit.    He won the firsts et 6-0 and then collapsed in the second set.  In the third set he was leading 5-2 and was serving for the match and then eh collapsed totally

Fact is in the case of the Tokyo tournament only 3 of the 8 seeds seeds are still in the game and smart money is on .one of those will lose ta match today.   

In the case of the Stockholm tournament one seed was withdrawn due to injury and  of the remaining 7 only 2 are still in Round 2  one of hose are likely to lose today if he bookmakers' odds are anything to go by.

In the case of he Antwerp torunament there are still 6 seeded players in the tournament - but 3 of them have already gone into the quarterfinals - and 3 of those ae playing today.   If anyhting like whatn happened in the other tournaments is anything to go by - I will be suprised if some fo the seeds do not fall by the waysidxe.                 .

There is not a single seeded player who survived the quarterfinals in Tokyo..  That type of situation arises in ATP 250 tournaments from time to time in ATP 250 tournaments - but in ATP 500 tournaments that is not a normal situation.

The Stockholm tournament also h ave no seeded players going  into the semifinal stage

In Antwerp there will be 3 seeds going to survive after the quarterfinals  

So out of 24 seeds in the 3 tournaments only 3 survived/to play ibn the semi's.      ;
