In the meantime it must be noted that of the Top 10 ranked players Djokovic, Berretini, Thiem and Federer have not played in neither the Washington Open nor the Canadian Open - but is likely to play in Cincinatti next week - the last series before the US Open. Federer at 48 and Thiem is also in the race to play in the EOY tournament in November are totally out of contention for qualification. Another bad result in the next three weeks and Nadal will also be out, especially if either Ruud, Shapovalov, Hurkacz and Karatsev do well in the upcoming series. Sinner just won in the Washington Open - if that tournament is taken into account he would have been higher in the seedings. I will give the breakdown of opponents on Wednesday.
I was looking at the betting in most of the Round 1 matches and even the bookmakers with rare exceptions do not know who will win in Round 1 with the odds being more or less level on most matches.
