We score an epic number of runs. The game looked over after our first 5 overs. But after bowling two overs we had given the initiative right back to the Poms. An exciting match and a lot of fun to watch, but the usual Proteas WC melt down.
Some fine batting from Amla, de Kock and Duminy. And some luck came our way, Miller was out second ball...but the umpire blundered.
But all that was matched by some terrible fielding and even worse bowling by Steyn, Rabada and Morris.
Can we come back from this and beat the Windies?

Well Moz, I've always doubted our attack(see my below post), there's too much reliance on Steyn who's time might have come and gone. Two overs and he went for 35 runs and forced out of the attack....how could that happen with your main strike bowler!? They must by now regret leaving Morkel back home. I'm pretty confident they'll beat the Windies who are a one man band in Gayle but this Protea atta ck needs to develop some nous...quicksmart!

I would never have left Morkel back home and I also have to say our man Morris is looking more and more skittish with the ball. That exacerbates the Steyn issues and Morkel's absence. That was about as low a pressure situation as you get against a good team in the WC, but from ball one we contrived to give the Poms the game.
