CC - Top heavyweights
Yes ... you have a valid point regarding selecting the best in history when they're separated by so many years and such different training techniques.
Personally I don't think that any man would have stood against the 20 year old Iron Mike Tyson.
Will all things being equal my list of the 5 best would be ...
1. Mike Tyson
2. Joe Louis
3. Rocky Marciano
4. Jack Dempsey
5. Jack Johnson
For me, it's incredibly difficult to get a definite top 5
For instance, I always very highly rated Larry Holmes, who only lost his 1st fight when he was 48-0, just one behind the legendary Marciano, and is the only person to stop Ali...
Like Plum, I grew up watching Lennox Lewis, so he will always be in my top 5
Joe Louis will also definitely make my top 5, as well as Mike.... he was just too destructive as a boxer
Marciano comes in my list, purely because of what he did for his size.....
Sheeesh, too many man.... Foreman.... Holyfield coming up from undisputed cruiserweight and doing what he did at heavyweight....
Just too many to choose from
Big fight tonight...
