Oosthuizen who has finished second too often in Majors…..often because he wilted at the death came second again today. But unlike his other misses, this was a gutsy effort on a tough course. Great players like Koepka, McIlroy and de Chambeau collapsed on the back nine.
Louis hung firm hitting great drives on scary holes. But things turned on 17 where Rahm made an unexpected birdie after bailing on his drive. Louis went for it and paid the price as his arms got a little quick. Still Rahm’s win hinged on two difficult putts with huge left to right break. Putts where both speed and line had to be perfect.
Congrats to both players….Rahm getting just rewards after Covid robbed him of a Memorial win two weeks ago.
