Been impressed today from 65/4 at lunch to 217/6 ( 3.01 RR) so far.

Would have been happier to finish with 3 in hand, but at least we are over 230.
I was very disappointed with our top batters today - at one stage I thought we would struggle to make 120 runs. However, the middle and lower order showed some fighting spirit and 267 for 7 is not a6t all a bad score. I would say another 33 runs would put us in a very solid position.
Personally I gained the imprssion that the pitch is not batsman friendly - hence the fact that the bowlers got the upper hand. That be the case - the POMS will struggle to get that many runs. Lets wait and see what happens tomorrow - we may even have to bat again by tomorrow afternoon.

Hope Vern can stand to get his 50 this morning. But no point to try and stand to lunch. They should just go out there and get as many as fast as possible. Top order failed, we cannot expect the lower order to occupy. They should just get as many as quick as they can. and then we send in the Poms.

Thats the 300 and we are in a much better position now.
