Wilder dragged Fury to court, and by promoters lining a few people's pockets, managed to force a third bout with a guy that he has only won 2 rounds against, out of 19.
And he only won those 2 rounds due to knockdowns, with Fury wining the rest of the time in both rounds.
Shame really that Wilder turned out to be such a tosser. One of the worst ever, to be exact.
I loved the narrative of fighting against him meaning you have to be perfect for 12 rounds while, with his power, he only has to be perfect for a split second.
As it turns out, here are the excuses he had made to date for being merced by Fury...
Poisined water.
Gypsy spells.
Objcet in Fury's glove.
Removal of padding from Fury's glove.
Pulling down of Fury's glove by Ricky Hatton...of all people.
Walk-in costume too heavy and burned his legs out.
Biased referee.
Betrayed by his trainer...whom he claims poisoned him and was paid to throw the towel in after colluding with Fury's camp.
Racism by crowd - this despite him walking in to a live rapper doing a version of Black Power. We're highly racist but will cheer for you like mad and while your guy sings about how great blacks are and how white are your enemy.
Yes, I shit you not, these are all the excuses that have come out of his mouth since the loss.
I hope he gets beaten even worse by Fury this time. I'd love for his career to be ended this July.
Problem is, something seems strange about Fury. He doesn't look like the same guy that he was when he met Wilder previously. Perhaps I'm looking for something to make the fight interesting but despite Fury's dominance of Wilder to date, something in the air is making me way more nervous than I should be.
Will be a good fight, if the last one is anything to go by.
For reference, here are some lyrics from Wilder's walk-in song. HAHA and he got destroyed by a guy that walked in to Patsy Cline.
"Black magic, black excellence
Black habits, this black medicine, everything
Black Chucks, black tux, everything, everything
Black hug, black love, everything
Praise black Jesus, play black Moses
Give 'em flowers while they still here, black roses, everything
Black tie, black ride, everything, everything
Black pride, black lives, everything (Ah-ah-ah)
Skin noire, friends noire, here you are, black
Everything you need, better believe you are that, said
Skin noire, friends noire, here you are, black, every—"
