I personally think his batting as an opener is atrocious and t showed up again today.   He is really no good anymore and should be replaced soonest.

Ou maaaik you have been talking Smith out of the various Bok squads for a decade. Who is his replacement?

At some point you will be proved right and no doubt will feel vindicated.

I would like to see that young wicket keeper batmen be given more of a chance.

Thanks for the statrs windpomp. Perhaps 2013 has been a good year so far for Smith!

Three further failures by Smith in three ODI's.  He scored in the three ODI's a total of 33 runs using up 85 balls to do that.   That is an average of 11 runs per innings using an average of 5 overs to do so.

I am not saying replace Smith at test level - he still has a occassional good performance there.  He is not an ODI or 20-20 player anymore.   I think he should be replaced by De Kock as an opener.  De Kock may also be out quickly - but he will not waste balls like is the normal with Smith. He will score at above 6 runs per over and in the time Smith takes to score 1 run - he would score 12 to 15 runs.

i think de kock is the way forward even though he is a bit green in terms of exp and age. his talent is unmatched. he can be picked as a batsman and he keeps as well. smith does add more value as a ex captain to ab much like ricky did for michale clarke but as we saw yesterday ab is coming on in leaps and bounds and smith really needs to pick up his levels to keep his place.

de kock's talent is very very good

That is indeed very wastefull of all the balls.
