JP and faf are utter and complete rubbish jp cant clear the boundary and faf is not up to standard so how can they be in the team ? berhadien is way out of his depth as well.....there is enough younger talent around that needs to be given a chance than these plonkers
JP duminy fat du plessis and berhadien not up to international standard....while de kock should be given a run
Not sure i agree regarding JP. The guy averages 40 in ODI's and is a good fielder and bowler to have in the mix.
regarding faf... why do you call him fat??? he is as lean as they come? However i think he needs a bit of a rest. He does have class, but has been at it non stop for a year. He needs a month or 2 off so he can be fresh for the Indians.
Behardien... agree with you. I feel for him. Great guy and a wonderful trier.... just dont think his batting is up to international standards.
I'd much rather have Vern in the mix... with a guy like vaughn van Jaarsveld. Imagine Vaughn and Miller finishing off an innings from positions 6 and 7? Could score 100 plus in the last 10 over.
Vaughn had a rough time when picked to play against Oz in Oz... he should have been given an extended run.
AB also sucked for his first 20 odd ODI's... but his class eventually came through. I reckon VVJ needs a go.
Thoughts??
JP is a quality player, I am not convinced about Faf, Berhardien is useless, how he has ever played for SA is beyond me.
V V J is too old to invest in they need to bring in one of the young bats in the SA A side playng against Oz A
Where of where have the attacking batsman gone.
Very few present SA players are capable of playing attacking cricket in the present ODI or Twenty/20 games.
Take out guys like de Villiers, Kallis and Steyn and what do you have?.
Alma, Faf and company are not one day game players and their records show that.
Get the young guys in the team and lets get some fast scoring going.
Old story...get with the times (game) or just fade away, as we have been doing.
By the way Faf can't make the IPL playing team that he is signed for but he can make the national side....whow!
@art...
mate r u on drugs?
Amla is the number 1 ODI batsman in ODI's... with a strike rate of 82 and an average of over 55.
SO im not sure what record you are referring to.
@saf... Bud, VVJ is only 28. He still has plenty to offer. A lot more than Ingram and behardien. Hi is still the best ball cracker in the country by a far mile.
Id still like to see him involved in the setup.
Amla's credentials are non questionable in ODI's anyone who does question him is clueless.
V V J is too old in my books.......we are sorted with the likes of Smith, Amla, JP, AB, de Kock and Miller as incumbents.......we need to be looking at youngsters like Hendricks, Elgar, v/Zyl and Rossouw as back-ups in both ODI's and Tests............with Elgar being a test player already. How much longer do we have Kallis.
I want to see the talented Miller brought into the test fold, he has the talent
So De kock got his chance in 20/20 and he did!!!! fuck all! sorry to say i loved this kid has so much hope for him but he needs to start preforming on the big stage otherwise i can jst see him being another zondeki
