Congrats to Almadin and his connections on winning the world's most prestigious 2 mile race.
I am so annoyed as I took a trifecta where I bankered the second placed horse - the aptly named Heartbreak City - to win. If I'd made Heartbreak City a floating banker (must finish anywhere in 1st 3) instead of an outright banker (must win) then I'd be about R15 000 richer! The favourite (Hartnell) finished 3rd.
Sorry, I know everyone has a hard luck story when it comes to the horses but watching the replay of this year's Melbourne Cup and seeing the epic duel down the home straight between the winner Alamandin and my pick Heartbreak City . . . well, it breaks my heart!
