Novak Djokovic …another gem

Alcatraz played some great tennis, but in the end the Joker prevailed. He had good support in this final, things were not so one sided for the Traz. But on match point serve some Woke anti Joker fan shouted out just as he was about to serve. He contends with this rubbish all the time.

Today he had to contend with incredible heat that clearly affected him more than Traz. His face was flushed and at times he could hardly move. Initially he was dominating the exchanges but as the heat issues emerged, Traz was able to wrest away control.

But the Joker found a way to hydrate and control the symptoms and he came back in two excellent tie breakers. The first few points of the 3rd set tie breaker demonstrated to Traz Novak was not going to be broken. And after 3 incredible Novak backhand returns off fully flushed shots….Traz started to wilt. He even threw in the moon ball, reminiscent of Harold Solomon, but to no avail.

This was surely one of the most grueling matchesI have witnessed, and it must leave Traz’s team puzzled about the weird cramping issue under pressure. Could it be some sort of mental capitulation?

Go and read what Djokovic  said about the match and learn something other than BS  about tennis.    It was terribly hot according to you that effected Djokovic and not Alcaraz.    Remember Djokovic won the Aussie Open a couple pf times playing in heat higher than in Cincinnati - so heat should not have been a problem for him.   Out goes the BS about the heat.

The fact is Djokovic had the luck of a pox doctor in the tourament.   His main opponent in the Quarterfinal and Semifinal would have been Sinner and Rune respectively - Sinner ran out of  steam in Round 3 after winning in Toronto and Rune retired injured in the same round.   So his opponents before the semi was substandard.     His first round opponent Davidovich Fokina also retired in his opening match.- that player gave Djokovic some uphill in the past and a full match could have made Djokovic route more difficult as the tournament went on.

I would not put 5 cents on Djokovic winning the US Open.   I think he will remain the number 2 ranked player for many more months..    We will see what happens in the draw on thursday though.

Obviously all this betting on Alcatraz is depleting your resources….why dontcha just subtract his ass out of your list of contenders and put your money on the Joker.
