This was a superbly played match with many epic rallies. Sinner won without too much stress but the Joker has looked good in this tournament. The point count today was 120 to 105, which theoretically meant Novak could have won with 8 more points. My guess is he lost at least 8 points with his drop shot tactic, which never worked against Sinner as it did against Zverev.

Oddly the Joker never let go of this idea, partly because he wanted to limit the length of the points. Frustrating because even though Sinner was hitting harder, Novak with his excellent placement won his share of the long rallies

The better tactic may have been some off pace slices, of the kind Federer deployed against Nadal. That would have been hard for Sinner with his relatively flat shots to have returned at pace….the high bouncing balls were easy meat.

Still a great game to watch with a fascinating final in prospect.

Agree with you about the match outcome. Djokovic managed o beat Zverev in the quarters - but the latter was beaten by Musetti three weeks ago in the Hamburg tournament and is not really that good anymore,

For the rest both Sinner and Djokovic only played against nseeed player and the semfinal match wa tos ee who played the ebst tennis, Sinner was always certian to win the match - but what is clear is that Djokoic played a competitive match - but signs are not vey good in his case - too massage interuptions was nt very encouraging in the case of Djokovic i an indication tha his prosects are ebcoming limited to smaller competitions on ATP 250 level n on higher level he is not competitive anymore before Wimbledon strating on 28 June and it is not clear whether Djokovi will be involved in any of those grass court matches/

As to Roland Gaross I think that the winner in the final may be Alcaraz,

As to Djokovic his major battle could be in the case of the Wimbledon mastes so that would be an interesting case about how Djokovic will be perrm in taht tounament, . .

Good points about the massage breaks….it’s getting very hard physically for Novak. It seems 38 is the barrier no player can break, modern medicine or not.
