The cobras beat the titans in rather emphatic fashion last night. Largely thanks to the efforts of Richard Levi who hit 166 runs of 134 balls.
Would this be considered a sign that he is hitting his straps again. Maybe able to bring that form over to the t20's coming up against New Zealand?
The guy has got talent but must get more conistent.
Ek waht is going to happen if Duminy is fit. Surely Faf cant be dropped? I agree that he actually was the guy who was most influential in this series win.
Duminy and Faf both play in the ODI side and T20 side together so that is no issue, It's only the test side where the competition witll be hot but I'd make a plan to pick both of them.
Levi on form Beeno is potentially the most destructive batsman South africa, maybe the world. He is not a gracious batsman, but pure brute force in that stocky body. When he is on song nothing can stop him, and he has shown that before. I just think it's a mental thing with him. I would like to see him aganst New Zealand in the t20's as it looks like he is getting in form.
So far this season he has hit 4 fifties and this hundred, so things are looking up again it seems.

Watched him on TV playing in the IPL 20/20.
First game he really impressed me but then two ducks.
Not so sure he is cut out to be a winner at this stage.
Trust he comes right and proves me wrong.

Very impressed with the new guy Davies....and some others.
Generally a young team that is knitting very well and will go from strength to strength....hopefully.

Yeah Arthur, Davids was really impressive he played himself into the team. Maybe an openings partnership of Faf And Davids is the answer.
Richard did not do himself any favours against New Zealand.
I find it odd though, as he was hitting the ball well. His problem at international level it seems has nothing to do with his batting as such. more his patience. He hits the ball well but doesn't get a gap then he gets impatient very early and hits one to a catcher. He has some other issues to sort out, but they can only be sorted out if he plays at this level more. The other coin of the argument is that this level is not the place to sort this out. He has to get used to better and tighter fielding so he can place the ball better as he gets away with it on domestic level.

But generally I am impressed with the Protea players. Youth and class are on thier side.

Honestly, the test side is already better than the great side of the 70's......
This is the best Test side we have ever had, as for the limited overs sides, ........ That is another story altogether..
EK, no denying that the present SA side is very good.
But lets face it the Aussies, the English, NZ and teams like the West Indies are way below their normal levels of international cricket at present.
So I think it is unfair to make claims of "best ever" rather give credit to the present team for their performances and don't forget the excellent performances of the past.
Equipment in present day cricket allows the players a lot of opportunity to play shots that would have been deemed as downright dangerous in the 70's and 80's. My reference is to helmets and body armour.
We always tend to view the latest as the greatest......irrespect of what sport it is.

I Still think this is our best team ever, this if i look at batting and bowling averages and how the individual stars are percieved across the world.
The problem with that 70's team is that we will never know. So we will have this belief that they were great but they will always be a what could have been team as their careers were cut short due to political reasons.
therefore i can only measure what is measurable.
