Im speaking only half way through day 5...

Eng 203/6

Tahir just got a typical leg spinenrs wicket on the 5th day of a test...

Hopefully today could be his coming of age!

I really would love for him to do well!

He did well. Bowled really well. Between the two frontline spinners in this test, i would defenitely have picked him instead of Swann. But it's still early days in the series though. I don't think Tahir did bad though.

Chippo he got two good wickets in Strauss and Prior. I watched him yesterday. His control was good. I thought he did not get a much turn as a wrist spinner normally does. This test shoulddo him good as he has bowled 30 over so far.

Make that 3 wickets.............. He does in general not turn his legspin ball, that much. He gets a bounce and his Googly is the one that turns.

Sweet deal!

I got it right.

He may not have got 5 wickets, but th 3 he got went a long way to getting us to that victory, infact his last wicket resulted in the victory!

Well balanced atatck ain'it!

He can be proud of that performance, a few loose balls. but in general really well bowled.

Yes he can be satisfied with his perforamnce = I watched a bit of the highlights re yesterdays play. Tahir was getting even better turn. His control definitely appears to have improved.

Agreed Chippo there is nice variety. I Philander also was a bit unlucky. He bowled some superb leg cutters without reward. The pace and swing of Steyn, The pace and bounce of Morkel, Philander nipping it both ways and moving the ball around but pretty acurrate as well and then Tahir mixing up the spin. And lets not forget Kallis - past his best as a bowler buy still able to think a batsman out.

The number 1 spot has moved a step closer.

Yeah this attack has something of everything we even have a little off spin in duminy. Now if Duminy can just woork some more on his bowling as welll Does anyone see a decent middle order all rounder in the making ?
