Not so sure about that - Bairstow batted well and in two innings made 150 of the POM runs.   Would Pietersen in his place made 200 runs?

However, I must admit that the half-POM team would jabe done better after leaving out one of the Out of Africa players.   After all -

*   Strauss borne in Johannesburg and left for England a few years later;

*   Trott started playing cricket in SA - where he was born and grew up; and

*   Finn is married to a South African;

*   Flower is from Zimbabwe and fled to England - his father independence was Mugabe's head of Security after working for Bitish intelligence whilt serving under Ian Smith.

Add Pietersen to that and you have a real SA omelet there.   That is why they had to stamp out any potential disunity or disloyalty in the team - and Pietersen was sacrificed for that reason    Stupid of the ECB to do that before this test - but the POM players in the team ganged up on all the SA-orientated crowd - the latter including Swan and Broad in an effort to ensure their future in the team.   Swan himself was bad as a bowler - taking 3 wickets in four innings with 1 wicket for every 135 runs scored off his bowling - so what can one say about this dighead?

Mike its KP for Taylor please. The selectors got that one wrong as well  - Bairstow is a better player than Taylor surely.

Lets face it the England side is full of imports - almost as bad as the bulle! Bwahahahahaha You could add Prior to your list as well.
