Interesting read for once I can agree with most of the list.
I know Marx lost a bit of form but there is no way average Jamie George of England is better than an out of form Marx who appeared to regain his form by the end of the WC
I would also not have Itoje and Alwyn Jones that high up the list
Itoje is a good player but the most hyped in the game right now but not nearly as hyped as Richie McCaw was.
All the Boks on that list deserve their spot, I’d add Marx

"Warmed over nonsense. If Louw hadn't turned the ball over when the scores were even and Wales had phase after phase in the Bok half, the Duds wouldn't be in the top 50.
And shouldn't be!"
Hmmm . . . so let's just take stock here . . .
Basically, Moffie is saying that the World Rugby Player of the Year, multiple South African Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and recently voted #1 out of the top 50 players in the link above . . . that guy shouldn't even be in the top 50 and only makes it because of . . . ummm . . . a single incident where Francois Louw made a turnover? Otherwise he wouldn't (and shouldn't) be in the top 50 players.
Is that correct, Moffie?
Can you at least admit that your rating of PSdT is in an extremely small and ever-decreasing minority? Can you admit that? I know it's impossible for a self-important old know-it-all like you to actually admit he's ever wrong about anything but I'm interested to know if you at least admit that the people in the world who have the same opinion as you on this matter can be counted on one hand.

Yes, we know we're all rugby noobs but what we're trying to establish here is how many are not ignorant rugby half-wits and have the same opinion of Pieter-Steph that you have?
I reckon it's a very small minority of less than a handful. There's you and Omlet and maybe Pakie as well . . . who else? How many? Do you at least admit you're in a minority in ranking PSdT outside of the top 50?

Forgetting for one sec what rugby noobs know about ranking players, the fact is that Wales just had their most successful ever RWC failing narrowly in the semifinal and their winger played a big part in that campaign through being the tournament's top try scorer.
That is all fact, not opinion.
Now, how much does someone actually know about rugby if they wouldn't rank RWC's top try scorer as one of the world's best players? The same handful? Moffie, Omlet and one or two others?
There's a pattern developing here . . .

Itoje in the top 5 players in the game according to Moz but PSDT should not be there and is there because Louw effected a turnover - WOW
Itoje is as average as they come. The only Bok lock he is better than is Mostert
Itoje is the most hyped player in the game taking over from McCaw

Or maybe he's just the best player?!

The best players in the game are those that are game changers - the likes of Vermeulen, Itoje and Jaws are not those players
Top of the list is Barrett, others that spring to mind are Savea, Faf, Hogg, Kolbe, Kerevi, Liam Williams, May, Aron Smith, Read, Murray etc

43. LOOD DE JAGER - SOUTH AFRICA (Last year: New entry)
A key component of South Africa's fearsome tight five, de Jager moved away from the 'bomb squad' on the replacement bench - starting five of the Boks' seven matches in Japan.

Lood would be absolutely useless as a golfer no doubt
