What do you guys think about the new possibility of world rugby introducing the 20 minute red card, where it seems the rule will be, that you can replace a red carded player, with another player, but only after 20 minutes.

This is going to be trialed, to prevent games from becoming a bit of a farce, which I also believe it does, when you lose a player for the entire game.

I will support any process that could prevent losing a player for the entire match becomes if that happens in any game, especially a crucial deciding game or final, within the first few minutes, it completely ruins the entire rest of the game.

Good idea but reds should only be given for intentional foul play

Another stupid idea for world rugby. Black card, simple. Black carded player is immediately removed from the have, but is replaced by another player. Issue solved. This problem was solved by gaelic football decades ago.

For a start they should stop red carding stuff like this below . Give the pansy pulling the soccer move a yellow instead.

But on the issue of a sin bin period, I'd say ten minutes and then a replacement. Having a sin bin period for a yellow but not for a red would be a bit odd.

That's a kak idea, Aug.

Basically opens up the door for hitmen.

"Basically opens up the door for hitmen"

I thought the exact same thing Plum, it's the first problem that came to mind

Sacrifice a player to take out an opposition key player, then just replace your player

And twenty minutes isn't enough to kill a test? The bottom line is that reducing numbers stunts the contest. And even with the threat if a red now, we still have cheap shots and hitmen. You won't stop that. But losing a player immediately and requiring him to be replaced immediately is a bigger shuffle than you think.

No problem Kindergartern Imbecile

You miss half of what happened in games anyway and 20 minutes represent 25% of playing time - so you will miss  75% of the match anyway - tha t should not bother you at all.

I'm with Auge. we need 15 v 15 at all times..."assassins" can be dealt with in numerous ways...even criminal prosecution if necessary, but cards are killing the game...it's resulted in players deliberately baiting opponents to provoke a retaliation and get them sent off....last Lions test being a prime example...looked like it was a team strategy on the day...it needs to stop ASAP.
