Well folks next year is going to be a bummper of a rugby year. The Kings have finally been included in the SuperXV and I can for one say that our preparation is going well. Some people have written us off so I am here today to help rally up some sa support for the Southern Kings in 2013. I truly believe we are going to surprise allot of people. We shall be having an autograph day on the 19th December outside Nelson Mandela Stadium. Thanks for all your support!

The Kings are going to be the whipping boys of the comp. Its a disgrace how they gained entry into the competition. It had stuff all to do with sport and to sports/rugby lovers that is just not forgiveable

The bigger picture is a political one, there is no place for politics in sport. Sport is about merit and merit alone. As a rugby lover there is no credibility in watching a token side playing in a comp where clearly they will be way out of their depth. Its a digrace and will be an embarrassment to SA rugby.

The decision to inlude the Kings was made by a bunch of clowns who clearly have no rugby agenda at all. Do these fools really think that by having the Kings embarrassed every week that that is going to develop the game in the EC? Talk about short sighetd and naive.

Its been how many years now that the ANC has been in power and we are still seeing these pathetic political games at play

Hi there Luke I just want to say I cant be in PE on the 19th to sign autographs due to prior pressing engaments.

I dont of course agree with snapster entirely . With a bit of luck SARU will have the pants sued off them for this caper and they will think twice berfore trying one like this again.  And Luke we all understand only to well the vile circumstances which saw you guys coming through the back door using race and political connections etc etc.

Luke you guys needed to come through the front door. In case you do not know what that means allow me to explain. You should have got into the Currie Cup as a first step (Why in the world do you think a vodacom cup side deserves Super 15 status!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Then you needed to do well enough there to challenge for a spot in the super 15.

So no, outside of EP very few wish you well and we hope to see the Lions back in Super 15 next year.

However if you earn your spot some time in the future I for one will wish you well but never under these disgusting circumstances.

Sorr ywe cant be more positive about the queens but in the circumstances it is just not possible. We have nothing against the players themselves but the whole deal stinks.

Saffex

I saw this posting by Luke Watson and did not respond to it because it looked like it was a kind of "official post" by the originator.    Was there a similar message on other sites as well?    It is not worth responding and will only create a negative image of this site in the eyes of the Kings.

We all agree there are serious problems in the process whereby a team that cannot get into the top division of the CC got into the Super Series - even though they are trying to get extraneous players into the system.    We also know that the decision was not really rugby-related and that is bound to be problematic from a log point of view.

However, I think that to respond to the message posted raising issues like politics in sport will not solve anything and have no positive results.  Lets look at the issue based on rugby only - ie results in matches of the Kings in Super Series next year and see whether the means used justify the results achieved.

So you are saying Mike that we must all acept this political interference and racist agenda Mike. Trouble is it is ruining the country as merit is thrown out the door and colour and political allegiance are the criteria. Cadre deployment has been a disaster and BEE etc benefiting only a narrow band of anc corrupt politivcians -  and here we see the same spirit at work.
No there are more and more voices being raised in the country against all this cadre deployment and corruption and lack of service deilivery, lack of decent education and lack of job growth. Its all has the same root - race  and political based issues trumping merit. This must be fought wherever possible.

Beeno

In a season of goodwill - lets keep the issue of politics out in this case and concentrate on rugby.  Rugby - afterall - is what this site is all about.

Sorry Mike I do get heated on this one. The season of goodwill must reign!!!!

No chance of this guy really being Luke though. Pity as it would be great having him around  and giving us his views etc.
