Most Difficult Opponent: Josh Stander (Queen's)
Comment: A broad shouldered player that is the complete package in his position.  A strong pass, big kick from the base, quickness off the mark and strength to get through holes are amongst his assets

9. JUSTIN PHILLIPS

Justin has exceptional try scoring capabilities and can recover quickly from difficult situations. He enjoys putting the forwards under pressure while sucessfully off loading the ball to the back line.

The Bulls must have made a major offer to Duhan van der Merwe.   Wp made a mistake by nor getting him - this guy is the future of wing play in SA:-

Stats : Height 1.94 m

           Weight 96 kg

Compare that with JJ Engelbrecht:-

           Height   1.90

           Weight    94 kgs

Rumour has it he is speedier than Engelbrecht a very strong guy and a youngster with ball sense.   Only 18 and he is bound to put on another 2 or 3 kgs in muscle development going through intensive Gym Work.

Saffex - please take note - he is the real deal of the future.

Agree Mike. SA Schools 2 years in a row and should play SA u20 for 2 years. Strong powerful runner who usually plays left-wing. Very exciting and good to see he will train with the Bulls Super Rugby squad.

Earlier in the year for SA u18 he was too much for Wales and England to handle. Put up one of his tries v England above.

Outeniqua have been the best rugby school in SA this year. Bulls have signed 6 of them and WP 1.

I am sorry - but I fail to understand your logic.   Instead of saying - he looks like an interesting youngster to look at insofar as future development is concerned - you actually go into some weird laughing mood.   That does not show a real interest in rugby and rugby development in SA?  Or must we forever stick with players and never look at any development of rugby in future?

This kid has represented SA at school level already - He was the top player at the Under 17 Youth Sport Development programme in Australia, he played for the SA schools t eam and scored two very good tries - they were playing the schools teams from England, Wales and France.   He comes out of school and is immediately taken into the Bulls Super 15 training squad.   What is wrong in being a bit positive - about him and say "We must watch out for this youngster - he seems to be very promising?  

Instead you immediately become negative without any interest in younger players - which is the ordinary approach with you.   Is there any player Under 25 you did not have a go at as yet?
