The boks have a bumper season ahead of them. The year starts off with a lot soft games.

That said, Italy played extremely well against Ireland yesterday and had it not been for a few cards they would have beaten the oirisish.

It doesn't get any easier on the end of year tour with France and Ireland at home.

On top of that we have NZ away at Eden park. With the kiwis boasting an 50 match unbeaten streak there.

This will be the year for Rassie to blood youngsters and give them a proper taste of pressure rugby. I would like to see the likes of Sasha, Roos to name of a few get a crack against the kiwis.

The boks stand a chance to lose 4 games this season. The rest should be a gift as these teams are really weak. Would be interesting to see how the wobblies play

If the boks can win those 4 games with a younger team I will be extremely happy

What happened to the test against Portugal? Was it replaced by Georgia?

The game I would most like to win is against Ireland, as we have not beaten the Irish at their home ground for ages. The current Ireland team is very beatable, and it would be nice to get a convincing score.

The 2 games in New Zealand will be difficult. I expect the Boks to win the second one.

The game against France will be very difficult, they seem to be getting back to their best form following their disastrous world cup exit at home. They have a pack that can match the Boks, and their backs are very skilful.

Predictions:

5 July: Springboks v Italy* - WIN. Boks by 25 points

12 July: Springboks v Italy*- WIN Boks by 30 points

19 July: Springboks v Georgia* - WIN Boks by 30 points

16 August: Springboks v Australia* - WIN Boks by 15 points

23 August: Springboks v Australia *- WIN Boks by 15 points

6 September: v New Zealand, Auckland - LOSE All Blacks by 12

13 September: v New Zealand, Wellington - WIN Boks by 7

27 September: Springboks v Argentina * - WIN Boks by 12

4 October: vs Argentina, London - WIN Boks by 8

1 November: vs Wales, Cardiff- - WIN Boks by 15

8 November: vs France, Paris - LOSE France by 8

15 November: vs Italy, TBC - WIN Boks by 15

22 November: vs Ireland, Dublin- WIN Boks by 5

The Boks won't win in NZ.

The Boks will beat Ireland - The Irish are on their way down.

The Boks v France match will be a good one.

However I notice again that France seem to be peaking between world cups which is not good for them.

It all turned to shite for them in the last world cup at home.

The French is a formidable team. I also the top French players putting their hands up to go play in NZ for the autumn series. Glad to see the players showing interest.

That French that lost to us was probably the best team, but it took the plucky boks to beat them. So many little things, Willemse calling for a scrum from a mark, Kolbe charge down at a conversion. Faf last ditch tackle on a rumbling prop forcing him to knock the ball on.

Im glad to see the are getting back to form and starting to warm up that engine

Two Bok tries from innocuous high kicks that the French couldn't control with a perfect bounce for us every time. Eben's slapdown stopping a certain French try and the ball could easily have gone forward rather than back getting him carded. A lot went our way in that game.

Honestly, these incoming tests at the start of the season are a waste of time. Georgia should not be playing against the Boks. What's the point?

The Boks basically play 9 meaningful games this year and 4 nothing games.

Would be much different if we got to play England and Wales/Scotland instead of Italy and Georgia.

I know that's not how it works but these incoming series just seem to be more of time waste every year.

...and for the French fans to then go an boo the Boks for the rest of the competition was low class. I'm so glad we got that win because it exposed what idiots the French fans are.

And the scummy French toss bags were booing people at the Olympics as well.

I was always neutral to the Frogs, not any more. I want them to be destroyed any time they walk onto a field.

You better belive I'll be trolling the hell out of them on X once the ABs demolish them.

Tests against the Minnow teams are good for testing new players, without the pressure of close games.

The Boks need to start phasing out some of their players, as many will not make the next world cup - or will be a shaddow of their former selfs. (A bit like Duane Vermuleen at the last world cup).

Theere are only three ess where the Springboks may have trouble in and thiose re against the AB.s and the the French,

Personall I think the Springboks will win in all the 3 matches involved.

I dislike the French since they and the UK unions and a few of the minor unions preferred to ignore he findings of he Technical Committee and got the 2023 WC tiournament allocated to France, So I was delighted when the French lost against the Springboks in 2023.

Ina t least two of the matches the French stuggled and their loss against England was die to poor passing and ball losss asa esult wjen tries would have been scored - so I do not think they are invincible at all despite of them winning the Six Na tions this year.

Plum, spot on regarding the French. They are a mercurial bunch and you never know where you stand with them. Don’t forget that they also bribed the IRB when SA was the favourite to host the World Cup. How amazing would it have been if they World Cup was in SA with that team. They don’t want to give SA any home advantage.

They are so negative about SA rugby players at the moment in FRANCE, ALTHOUGH A few quota boks didn’t help with doping failures.

I think the volume of games are fine. Now that we have Felix Jones and Tony Brown in our coaching team will really help the players. It will also help building experience and add some caps and game time. We can see players at 30 caps by the time the World Cup comes. So the likes of Fassi, Roos, Hannekom to name a few will be seasoned campaigners.

I actually want to see the likes of De Allende, Kriel, Eben, Malherbe, Kolisi being phased out this year and would love to see the youngsters take on the all blacks, French and Irish with the old heads as back up on the bench.
