756 vs 434
Spot on Moz - some things never change. This is especially true of any SA team.
Lambies enterprising play has been almost non-existent (the Sharks backline woes are well documented) so that leaves only the goal-kicking ability to be considered - I thought I would never say this but with Goosen hurt is it time to consider the Kat as the backup Bok flyhalf ? because even though his physical abilities are ordinary at least he can kick consistently and he plays with some mongrel. My concern is he seems to lack pace and quickness, which Lambie has, and that is necessary to defend adequately in the international game.
Mr Mozard, The Sharks actually won, it is just the telbord that disagrees.
Mozart what is your point? Pretty useless stats,
Use it or lose it
Then there is the ,inutes of possesion per try.
Spoon-man, the stats (if you can call them that) does not in itself say much, I agree use it or loose it. But in this case you must agree that the Bulls never WON the match, rather the Sharks LOST the match. If the Sharks had a half decent kicker and some individual discipline they would have won by a big margin. Sharks were let down by three key players. Butch the hasbeen, Viljoen the wanna be and Lambottom the could have been.
Has anybody got lambie's goal kicking stats for the year. I would have thought they are pretty good. Lambie remains a fine player and showed last Saturday some very special touches. The guy is the deal and only Goosen of the younger flyhalves and on top form has looked better.
Cat actually has done very well defensively and looks to be very strong mentally.
Morne has had the last laugh re his critics and has proved himself to be the best SA flyhalf this season.
Agree Beeno, guys relax. Lambie is still a very good player. Yes he is going through n dip but I back him to come back with a bang next season. Morne proved his critics wrong and so will Lambie.
Beeno - re: stats
First 4 games of the season - 19 from 20 - 95%
Since then - 41 from 61 - 67%
Season total - 74%
It all started with that disastrous Rebels game and he hasn't come right. The place for him to find his feet kicking is not in a Test match. If he does have to play flyhalf for the Boks due to a Steyn injury there will have to be a goal kicker somewhere else on the field (Pienaar?).
