A few Bok positions are firming up.
Le Roux will likely be at 15, but he isn't what he was and lacks a bit of physicality.
So back to the old story, We have had really enough of the contributions of this kind on site - because it does not relate to any form of reality insofar as performance is concerned. Vermeulen had not nearly done enough to own the no 8 position,
Every position is either selected on the basis of prejudice or reputation.
Coetzee at 15 ... ?? You're kidding!
You think he's impressed in recent weeks ... enough to warrant another toothless crack in the Bok 15 jersey? That's what you call "firming up" ... ?
I see you're coming around regarding Dan Du Preez. It's taken an age but then again it usually does.
Skosan is now our top wing? Dyantyi has also "firmed up" ...
Haaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahaaa!!
Vermeulen will be a definite at the WC, even though he's only good for 20 minutes every other week. He is a good friend of Rassie's and so no real effort is needed to qualify.
Schalk Brits is also a good mate of Rassie's and will be a part of the mix with Marx and Bongi.
I guess these two (Vermeulen and Brits) don't really need to "firm up" much ... right?
We have better props than Kitshoff and Beast. Just because they're consistently picked doesn't make them our best prospects. We have many in the mix that do not deserve to be there.
They all need to "firm up" little more ...
Anybody wanting Francois Steyn - who does no even make the Montpellier team as a center to play for the Springboks is a nut case - said to say. Fat Fransie is being out of his contract with Montpellier and he is now looking for an SA contract and no franchise in SA want him.
So he is likely to be off to Japan and see whether his mate and hero White will help out as er normal. But White has other ideas as well and is hoping to get a job back in SA and even if he remains in Japan may find it difficult to convince his funders to pay for Fatso.
Obviously Mozart will support anyone suggesting Fatso should be in the team - as afraid as he is to say Louw must be in the team.
As for JP doing well for Toulon - another joke - since Toulon is struggling not to fall into the relegation zone in French Rugby. A very poor team at present doing nothing really well. I did some stats checks to see what Pietersen is doing and he had some good ball carries - but his defense borders on the non-existent. Way too pace-deficient to feature in anything. .
Mozart is a relic ... who wants to see other relics brought back from retirement.
Brits, Beast, Vermeulen, Louw, JP Pietersen, Fats Fransie, Morne Steyn, Pienaar, Matfield.
He has no idea who the talented players are these days.
It's taken him an age to spot Herschelle Jantjies. He'll probably claim him as his in months to come.
He rates Coetzee and Skosan as musts ... and if he had his way, he'd have another relic coaching this lot ... Jake White.
Totally clueless. He is the one man on here that can give Fat Dave a run for his money when it comes to ignorance.

The fact is Mozart always favoured the rugby "geriatrics" and he was extremely happy about their selections by Meyer in the 2015 WC squad.
Fact is Mozart never realized that the squad selection was crap and some of his heroes could not be used in games. In the Japan test they failed badly and played themselves out of the team. In the Samoa test h te failures had some injuries - real and pretended - and the other old guard players failed again.
The result was that some players had to play in game after game and by the end of the tournament was totally exhausted - while the Mozart heroes was on a nice paid holiday in the UK. Some were used from the bench and played for as little as 30 minutes rugby in the whole tournament,
Be it as t may Mozart and co never learnt from that experience and still harp on some similar selections for the Japan WC, That remains a problem - world cup squad members should not include reputation players not capable of starting in at least in half of the tests to be played, Otherwise the same players must play in every test and the rest have an all-expenses paid holiday in Japan.
Hope Erasmus does not fall into the same trap as the clueless Meyer did.
Actually ... I think he came into the mix when we were 7th ... so a job well done.
Now say you're sorry!!
Sure - but Mozart does not realize that after the Japan Disaster the rating of the Springboks went down to 6 and only recovered partly because o the efforts of a few players - not the junk that was on holiday in the UK.
If players like Morne, Kirchner, Alb erts. Pienaar, Matfield and a string of other players were really usable in the WC - the real players who helped the recovery would have had some rest time in the series and despite a ridiculous game plan of Meyer could have done better.
In the end the series was a disaster because of the selection of useless rugby geriatrics and a disastrously stupid game plan. However, it is way beyond the comprehension of Mozart.
Indeed ... and that's why we have to do away with the 20 minute performances of Vermeulen, the non performances of Frans Steyn and the sham of a capt and 6 that you seem to be cheering on these days.
Throw in a sub standard Louw with the elderly carthorse JP Pietersen and we'll soon see ourselves strugling to stay in the top 10.
I think it's best you stick to chairing top 100 company boardrooms and leave the rugby to us.

Read what I said and make reasonable comments please, The players that was selected by Meyer and not reasonably used represented a problem. Because so many failed and others could not play because of injuries the choice of players to play in match after match tired \them out totally.
No other team in the 2015 had players in their squad that played virtually no rugby during the tournament - but SA had a string of those. Why was it necessary to take passengers to the WC which could not be us ed in games and played the same players in game after game after the useless players failed against Japan. Matfield was a dead loss against Samoa as well and walked off the field - after not being able to keep up - and then claimed an injury He never started again in the real competition and played his next starting game in the Bronze play-off.
Does it not bother you that the WC require contributions from all teams and in the case of Meyer's squad after the Japan disaster it was limited to about 15 regular starters with 4 regulars on the bench and the other 4 bench players used from time to time. Does it not cause player tiredness that impact on performance in a series like the WC?
You should realize that passengers in a world cup has a detrimental affect on the over-used players who should at least get a rest game in between,
Duplication
Mozart
Where did I mention Frans anywhere in what I wrote, The Steyn I referred to was the clueless Morne,
Franasie was totally hopeless playing Super Rugby in 2013 to 2105 and is nowadays not even playing at center for Montpellier anymore - and his club is not renewing his contract. Why should that happen? Meyer picked the perennial bench player Morne for his WC squad and did not dare to start with him in any game. Why?
What I wrote is factual and not convoluted. I asked some fair questions and you came up with zero answers. Fact is that squads are enlarged in WC competitions to allow for rest days for players - why was rest days not possible because of the Meyer selections?
Well there we have it. Now we know why "Cheese Whizz Thor" is returning home early.
The poor dear got himself all tuckered from last weeks exertions. Turns out that he didn't have a second game in him either ... and that seeing the entire tour through was never going to happen.
Why they bothered to send him down under is beyond me. He should have been left behind ... that way he could have rested up for a solid 4 weeks in preperation for the coming world cup.
LOL!!!
What a wuss!!
I'm sure I saw you telling us last week how under rated he was ... comparing him to "kleintjie Kriel" ... doing your usual ignorant assessment.
I'll see if I can find it.
As for an apology ... can't recall you ever apologizing to anyone on here ... ever ... not even for the hilarious "egg laying 101 counter rucking" lecture that backfired so nicely on you a few years ago.
So based on that ... I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you ...
