about the current Boks........aimless kicking has all but disappeared, there is also less kicking, their ball handling skills have improved and lastly, there is an appetite to carry the ball. The more they carry the ball the sooner they'll appreciate the value of holding onto it and find means to use it productively.

On the downside is our kicking game, it remains average, crash balling remains a problem, there is not enough offloading in the tackle ball situation.

I disagree with some of these points. We have been finding a fairly good balance between forwards and backs. These direct carries are what provides quick ball and straightens the attack. We have at times been playing too deep and narrow. That improved in All Black test, but we saw so little ball it's hard to assess . It was at its worst in Brisbane. Kicking does need to improve. Ever since 2010 we've been losing the territory battle, and being beaten in the air for the high ball. We need to kick better. Faf's Box kicks have mostly been poor. We some directness from 12. Our backs aren't coming onto the ball with enough power. We still rely too much on Willie as the link. Damian was the dead end we all know he is, Rassie must bring Esterhuizen into the game more. We look better when we play a little shallower and pass wider. We have a lot of speed, it must be imposed. When we are deep and narrow, we struggle to get on the outside of the edge defender and our wings struggle for space.

Hell - every post the same drivel from AO.   Do you never get tired writing BS?

For instance Faf's box kicks are dreams compared to what Hougaard, Reinach and especially the worst kicker of them all Morne used to come up with,   Count your blessings.

That being said even though the possession handover kicks are down to about 25% from what it used to be from 2012  to 2015, there are still too many of those.

Morné was never a box locker Lügnerin. Also, he ha a 77% retrieval rate on high balls. The best of any 10 I've seen. I've seen Hougaard have wayward games, but not to the extent of Faf. I agree with you about Reinach though, he was never a 9 I supported. He is the most technically flawed 9 I can think of.

We cannot kick any less than we already do, but we must kick better. We didn't kick very much under Meyer. In fact, we kicked less than New Zealand. So, how you arrived at 25% less is very puzzling. 10 man rugby wasn't the game played under Meyer.
