I stupidly only gave the Boks a 25% chance of winning, in retrospect I was too pessimistic. Heineke gets all the credit here for some smart tactics. The obvious challenge was whether our huge pack could put such a grip on the ball, that Aussie pace out wide could be negated. The answer was emphatically yes as Louw dominated Hooper and Vermeulen and Alberts were titanic counter ruckers.

The lineout question was also answered positvely as Oz was unable to take advantage of two number 4 locks and the lack of a lineout specialist in the back row. It just shows what an advantage it is to have one player like Etzebeth, who cast a long shadow over activities.

Is Jean done? I think we can forget that question for another year, what maturity he brings to the backline. And with the double vision of Habana and Willie we are now opening up space better than before. Does anybody still doubt Willie is a natural Campese style wing?
-
Nobody played badly today. I'd have to say JJ was invisible and Pienaar a little slow to clear. Morne was very solid. In the pack I only have issues with Flip, who was physical, but in the process gave away penalties and points.

Surely this has to be our most satisfying win since our NZ wins of 09.....but I think it was better balanced, better crafted. What a pleasure to watch the Boks playing this kind of rugby.

Willie is a better 15 than wing as he is involved in the game more at 15. Jean had a good game. JJ saw little ball but was good with the little ball he got and was solid in defence.
Flip needs to cut the odd obvious bit of stupidity out, but he showed we need locks with grunt at test level.
Morne was the least impressive Bok today
