Jannie missed one and Hougaard two, that's all. Tackle like that and the opposition are toothless. That said one of the tackles missed, Hougaard on Beale, led to a try.  I wish our backline defenders would make committed low tackles in the red zone.....Hougaard lost his line, and then went high.

I really am beginning to wonder about Hougaard.   He is definitely not a scrummie - despite everything written to the contrary on this Board.   Yesterdy he failed badly aa a wing.   He was in relity the woirst backline player of the Boks.  He not only missed the two tackles mentioned - he also made a near disastrous dribble kick.    At scrummie his kicking game was disastrous - so there is some question marks on that aspect of his game really in existence.  Insofar as attacking play yesterday is concerned - he really showed nothing other than losing the ball in the one case after he made some progress on attack..

At scrummie - I do believe that Pienaar is superior to him in both his passing game and his kicking game.   Yesterday Pienaar took a lot of pressure off Goosen and did it extremely well.   I don't think Hougaard will return to the starting scrummie position - so what now about him in the team?

I sincerely believe that one Pietersen returns from injury - the best Hougaard can hope for is s place on the bench.
