This ex Keo:

"In pre-season I wrote that a move to midfield had the potential to rejuvenate Pietersen, who in my view had become stale and uninspiring. And while he was certainly competent in midfield, he wasn’t dynamic, forcing me to reassess my position.

There were mitigating factors, of course, not least of all that the Sharks’ heavies were poor impostors of the platform-laying force they would later become. Pietersen’s potency on his return to the wing has its roots in the physicality and industry of his forwards. This was sorely lacking in his time in midfield.

That said, wing is undoubtedly the position he is best suited to. The defensive demands of outside centre in particular made him a vulnerability there. He is skilled at every discipline of wing play and the comfort and confidence that brings and stirs has been reflected in his play."

Please read and learn.

JP has been excellent on the wing. He is a powerhouse and makes his presence felt although he may lack a yard.  Why would one want him to play center. The reason are - which outside centers going into the future are better? Do we have wings who could take over from JP.

Its all about resource managment. I still thing he could make a success of center if he was needed there and we had wings waiting to take over.

I am looking forward to Jan Serfontein playing at senior level - this  boy has the x  factor and is a hard man. Seems to have the attributes of a great center in the making.

I am impressed with Jordaan, a genuine centre, seems like the real deal to me...what do you guys think of him?

Sure Jordaan is a talented player, one thing is for sure there are going to be great competition in the years to come with Serfontein, Jordaan, Small-Smith and Janse van Rensburg to name a few

Jordaan has great pace, is skillful and has vision. Only needs to show the physicality is there ala Serfontein. Jordaan is  hugely promising.  Small Smith is a very clever player with a nice turn of pace as well. Rhule also showed promise. Next year we should see all these guys playing at senior level at some stage and can begin to really find out what potential they have.

Snapster rates Pat Howard. I didn't see enough of him though to express an opinion. He also rates Du  Plessis who hardly had a look in this year for the Stormers.

The big hope is Goosen next year. Can he step up to interantional level and dominate. He appears to have ALL  the attributes. Put him behind a powerful Bok back and it could be fun.   Frans steyn must shed 5 kgs perhaps and get really fit and raring to go. 105 kg is about his best weight I would think.

Oh that these dopes would try Spies (he debulks to 105 kg as well) on the wing and Marcell at center. Imgagine what havoc they would play terrorising opposition backs. Imagine the offensive tackles!!! Ouch.

Joining Goosen we have - Frans at 15, Marcell at 12 , Spies on wing 105 kg, JP at 102 kg on wing, Hougaard 92 kg scrummie etc .   Now you are getting a competitive advantage. Tuck in a few flyers like Jordaan and JJ  to run off these guys and bingo a try fest.  Its all so simple!!

Listening to Beeno has to be the basic rule! Hahahahahhaha

Well funny that for at one point Plumtree said JP was the best 13 in SA........but you miss my point, I said JP was a good 13 and firmly stand by that and I would certainly have selected him there ahead of Jean and know he would have made more of an impression on attack than Jean.

Having said that, JP is an established wing and thats where I would always select him......my take on JP, was that I'd play him ahead of Jean.

My choices for Bok 13 are Taute and JJ.......they walk it by some distance. Jordaan is right up there as well, if he can measure up physically at the highest level. Other future options at 13 are Baby Boks Jan Serfontein and Pat Howard

Look Sapp you had many of your Bok teams with JP at centre.....not wing. That was your preference,....now as per usual you are trying to slime out of it. Which of course is why I don't take any of your brain waves seriously. When they flop it was never your first choice, or the player has suddenly become too old.

You were just flat wrong about JP, he's a liability at centre.
