RG Snyman can offload better than our backline players. Maybe he should have a shot at inside centre...

This is a whole team of locks, playing out of position to get them all into the same team, a bit like a Saffex list.

Not realistic, but if they kicked the ball out all of the time, they would have a good chance of getting the ball back from the lineout. Then just maul it all the way to the opposition try line

1.  Flip Van Der Merwe  - Sluggish and slow.

2.  Danie Roussouw - an all-rounder

3.  Bakkies Botha - a powerhouse

4.  Eztebeth - Good enforcer.

5.  Lood Dejaager

6.  Mostert - decent on the deck

7.  Juan Smith /Jaques du Plessis (both played at lock and loosie)

8.  Mark Andrews (Played in the world cup final at eightman)

9. JD Shiterling (gets thrown around like toilet paper, or a rag doll)

10. Victor Matfield (his dream position)

11. Steph Dutoit (A wing on a prayer)

12. RG Snyman (The new Sonny Bill Williams)

13. Geo Cronje   (Boer War Captain of defence)

14. Andries Bekker (Another who liked to be out on the wing)

15. Albert Van Deberg (a twig that was never physical enough to be a forward)

Jeez Shark, haven't you noticed Dud Toit has been playing left wing for the past year. And surely there is a place for Dave pick .....Quince Roux.

Quince Roux as an added bonus would bring along the "creativity" Vetsak speaks of .

Watching the pacy Du Toit steaming down the wing it's a thought. Like to see any back stopping him near the line.

But hey keep the world's best 7 at seven

Please note the weights of Albert van der Berg and wee matfiled not much different.

Mayfield doesn't always play on the wing said the great Bakkies Botha. LMAO!!!

RG adds a new dimension to our game - he looks to take contact and offload, its a weapon

AJH, that is true. I meant to write he played at 8, instead of his customery 5. I have updated above.

He is a very skillful guy byt he doesnt have to be a back to be skillful. Thats the way times are changing the forwards need skills too and thats what leads to total rugby. The more skills across the board the more players can play off each other. Imagine Itoje and RG togeter??? That'd be dynamite! Too bad RG didnt come here and put in his term to qualify for England haahahaha

Fatboy, thought you said English is your first language. It's not a weapon, it's a skill.

Weapon

a thing designed or used for inflicting bodily harm or physical damage."nuclear weapons"

No need to thank me.

Prop it any way you want, it's not a weapon but a skill and in a rugby context it's almost an art form.

Rassies toughest choice for this weekend is choosing who his three locks in the matchday team are going to be, let alone the starting pair.  Elizabeth seems the most certain, but given the form of the other locks, should this really be the case?

The lock stocks have been decimated by overseas departures. Hard to put together a lock pairing for the SuperRugby teams.
