It was interesting evening and I still can’t understand how Kolisi is able to play for the boks when he offers very little and only a token captain that occasionally has some ability which is mainly on attack but nothing else. Rassie has shielded him since he became the coach and for obvious reasons.
For South Africa it looked like he had a good game, managed to get a try and some meters on the touch line but no real impact. It was Japan and the lost to SA by 60 points. Not only did his try actually come from a maul, but he also has the ,ost well drilled pack to help him for that. True to form he only played 4 minutes of the 2nd half and had no further input. Where as between kwagga and Esterhuizen, they had a far greater impact. Kwagga wining balls on the ground and Esterhuizen getting over the advantage line.
Now, let’s hop over the pond to Chicago where the AB vs Ireland game. A stop start game ruined by to refs for its stop start. It was still a very hard match and Ireland getting ahead and leading for 60:minutes. It was in the few minutes of the first half that Ardie were able to go over the line. Unlike Kolisi, Ardie was making tackles, winning balls on the ground at crucial matters. The game was still very tight for most part, but when the all blacks finally got some space in the 2nd half, that they were able to pull away from Ireland. Ardie was at the heart of everything. He played right until the end and just got better as the game went on.
Yes, rugby is physical, but if you’re going to play open side, you need to be the fittest and smartest player on the field.
now we have Kolisi on 99 and most of the, being useless and the fake cheers keeps growing around as the most useless captain in history to have gotten away with it thanks to being black and living in a country like South Africa.
so here have captain half time vs captain all the time
you can call me unfair but I look at that position and just think Kolisi doesn’t come close to any of the best opensiders in the game today or ever has
