I note you prefer big ball carriers but are being beguiled by wee Daniels. Is he now really 100 kg - he used to be a mere 92 kg?

Please stick to your proven principles. If you start plaing Daniels and Brussouw and Spies in your loose trio plus the likes of Juandre at lock we are doomed.

Also Heyneke please try and get a grip on the selection process of both your coaching team and the players and understand that the bulle are overhyped and talent exists elsewhere.

Thanks Heynekeand feel free to ask questions here on the board if you need to. You can disregard any suggestions by either windpomp or the sapster but you should hang on every word of Beeno.

Beeno - excellent posting - but I am afraid you are farting against thunder in this case.   The Bok team selected by meyer would be as follows:-

Lambie - not even meyer would dare to put in Kirchner

   Basson

   Olivier

   De Villiers

   Morne Steyn

   Habana

   Du Preez

   Spies

   Potgieter

   Etzebeth

   Van der Merwe

  Brussouw

  Du Plessis

  Du Plessis

  The Beast

Bench  :    Chiliboy

                   Greyling

                   Kruger

                   Alberts

                   Hougaard

                   Aplon

                   Kirchner

The team will have to have some representation from the other S15 Franchises - but you can bet your bottom dollar that the Bulls will make up 60% of the team - with a sprinkling of other players being involved.

Mike I read somewhere that Frans was now available for the tests so he should play at 12. Hougaard will start on the wing not Basson.

Potty wont see the match 22. But one can expect an over representation of bulle.

From a Stormers point of view a very happy situation! Bulle will be completely stuffed come super 15 time Hahahahahhahaha

The only change that Francois Steyn would make would be that Olivier will not make it.   I think that he would stick with Basson - but you may be right about Hougaard.   On avergae however, I think chances are that Hougaard will be on the bench - especially since he has to cover the scrummie position as well.

The team as I wrote it out above cannot be regarded ever as the best SA can offer and I think that the POMS would have an excellent chance to beat the above lot

Clevermike is on the money-we have been warned! Tell me where is the speed? Cart-horses and then he wants to play a scrumhalf on the wing? Domkop! Spies is a shadow of his former self, Du Preez/Habana is a Dinosaur, Olivier has NEVER performed in the jersey; even Stander is better than Potgieter;Van de Merwe will be carded in 5 minutes. Afraid if that's the team he picks, but it sure looks like he's going that direction: BACK TO THE FUTURE!

A few incorrect assumptions here.

Hougaard has acquited himself well at wing for the Boks. So much so that many questioned whether 9 was even his best position!

Du Preez is still the most tactically astute and reliable player South Africa has. His experience will be very important alone, but he is still better than Hougaard who offers ore flash than substance by comparison. Hougaard's blowout against the Stormers should serve as a warning.

Habana has consistently been our most effective wing and certainly the most well rounded wing at test level. He chases kicks well, has good defence, exceptional work rate and a good cleaner on the deck. He is the only wing in SA that has been able to unlock opposition defences over the last four years.

Olivier has in act performed well for the Boks. The best we've had? By no means, but he has done better than the lauded Jacobs and going over the 2006 TNs I am baffled as to why Jake retained Jean.

Potgieter is a quality player and of Meyer selects him he does so with a view of selecting a good combination. A minute portion of SA fans ever take that into consideration and is one of the factors why they are emphatically wrong 90 percent of the time.

Benjamin

Sorry to disappoint - the above team is not what I would support as the best available.   It is indeed whom I think Meyer would select and my own statement is clear - that team would never be the best in SA.   It would basically be a Bulls team with a few players from other franchises thrown in.
