I stil fail to understand how the Springboks managed to get a win in this game.   They were extremely lucky to get that try - still don't know how it could have been awarded.   But a win is a win - even if it was ugly.

The scrums in the first half especially was a disaster area.   Although the problem seems to be on the Du Plessis side of the scrum - the scrummaging was weak all round.     Steenkamp throughout the game made one tackle and did precious little otherwise.   I still think that he did not deserve to be selected.

We were indeed lucky - De Jongh got the ball once and did not knock it on.   He made one tackle - but did not stop the tackled player from passing the ball - in essence a weak tackle.   The only other instances where his presence on the field was noticed was when one of the English players just brushed him off when he attempted a tackle and the movement continued to go forward.

In realiry he did nothing on the field of play - any dummy would have done more.

This game is not worth watching a second time - - I hope there is something in the other tests being played worth watching.

"We were indeed lucky. I stil fail to understand how the Springboks managed to get a win in this game." that was the same thing I said Mike after the 2007 RWC :-))

Funny. That was the same feeling I had about the All Blacks after the 2011 RWC as well, Hakwa.
