AB - Best WC performance thus far

England won by a large margin. So did th ABs.

The ABs were way more dominant over the Irish than Eng were over Oz. 

And Ireland are better than Oz at the moment. But Ireland lost to Japan.

So would today's performance be the best one, by any team to date, in this WC?

Some really poor performances by Irish players likely made the ABs look slightly more dominant they should have.

Still, Ireland were beaten everywhere, consistently.

Will the ABs emerge from the 1/4 stage as having the most fingers on the cup?

Ireland were much worse than Oz today, no matter what either team did in the pool stages. Ireland offered nothing and handed ribbon-wrapped gifts to the Kiwis for most of the 1st half.

Sooo wrong. Let me help you. Wobblies can get over the gainline, the Irish cant. The wobblies can scrum and lineout, the Irish cant. The Wobblies have ruck poachers, the Irish dont. The Irish are small and cant get around a good defence like they used to. ruck speed was crap. Everyone knows how to defend them now. Theres no way Ireland played better they did absolutely fook all for 80 minutes. At least Wobblies looked like they could score when th game was actually in the balance. It was a good test. Soooo, Kiwis havent had one real test until next game. Thatll be their first tier one opponent the whole world cup before they go home. 

Plum before making statement about the wee abs reflect on the fact Japan best Ireland. 

Ireland are over the hill by two to three years. England are not. Had Oz not played such a stupid game the score would have been close. 2 intercept tries for starters. Very pathetic exits. Running BS from near your try line. 

Nz goth freak Raylene's coach Cheika must go and the best player Oz has Folau must be reinstated.

Jokes aside Folau's firing from the Wallabies side this year has cost them dearly.

Eng got a nice helping hand from Jerome today while Australia were knocking on the door, loudly.

In reality, the final score never told the story of the match. 

Had England been penalised and carded as should have happened, things would have been a lot closer. And the final desperate attacks from Oz, that lead to more English points would not have occured, bringinf the scores even nearer.

The AB got no help from the ref. The score was a clear reflection of the gulf in class.

So if anything, it's England that got more pseudo shine than the AB today.

Ireland have no set piece?

Ok, what are today's scrum and lineout stats? From memory, there was relative parity, no?

Yeah, say nothing about all those forward passes and offfsides on defence. Not a damn one called all game. Dumped a player on his head, but yeah, WE deserved cards. Your having a damn laugh!

But go on, tell us what tge set piece stats were today.

Since Ireland are so poor, my guess is that the stats should reflect that. 

Ireland were fine in the set pieces.....too much toothless Stampkar  running at a metre a carry, and he lost the ball 3 times. Compare the NZ hard yards man Savea who averaged 5 metres a carry, and beat a tackle every second run. The toothless ball retention stuff from the likes of Stampkar kills the offence

No lines or cuts from the Irish backs until Henshaw's try. Sexton was absolutely clueless out there and the Irish back three were way less dangerous than the ABs.

All told this was an impressive AB win.

I think there is a problem with the Irish team and the centers around Sexton, Healy and Best.   These three key players were good three years ago - by now they should have been retired, since their only team  contribution is based on REPUTATION and not on PERFORMANCE.

SA suffered for five years from that disease - it seems now Ireland is in the same boat.        

Well done Kiwis, some like me expected a close encounter and a loss but that was an absolute monstering. The speed and skills of the ABs left the hard trying Irish looking like outright amateurs.

The Bokke have always been our main rivals ,even when beaten by the odd cricket score still our greatest foe .

Australia came to play ... they fought to the final whistle ... the Irish surrendered before they even ran onto the pitch.

It was a very poor showing by the Irish.

Stander had a great match ... again. A far better 8th man than the elderly Vermeulen.

Since I know you're a fan of his.

That showing reminded me of Liverpool's keeper in the champions league final two years back. A headlock early on followed totally uncharacteristic schoolboy errors.

Sexton has been a fine flyhalf for Ireland, but Plum you and I agree that Saturday he was a liability. His body seems to be increasingly fragile,
