The All Blacks selectors - Head Coach Steve Hansen, Assistant Coach Ian Foster and former All Black Grant Fox - have today named their squad for the 2013 Investec Rugby Championship.

The team features one new squad member, with talented Hurricanes and Wellington halfback TJ Perenara called into the All Blacks.

Not a bad line up eh chaps?

Read earlier that Ranger turned down the ABs so he could see more of his family. Now he must have a wife that can nag, lol Never heard of that before.

Ben Smith will be something special. Take a look at our outside backs, no bad. Some real fire power there. And Corey Jane is still out injured.

Hooker is a weak spot for sure.

Props are ok (Woodcock best days migh be behing him).  If we can keep Ben Tameifuna away from the meat pies we could have another talent there in the future.

Looking forward to seeing how we shape up against the Mighty Boks and the not so  mighty wobblies this year.

....Nah mate not enough Chiefs in the team so this is could be the beginning of the end of Hansens AB coaching tenure if he does'nt buck up his ideas.Too much of a one eyed Cantab.

Dave Rennie for AB coach... and Aaron Cruden for prez..

IMO The fact that not so many Chiefs made the ABs shows what a great coaching staff they have. Good players shapped into a great team.

predictable but good looking squad and IMO just the right number of chiefs, plenty of room on the EOYT to bleed some new faces, but the RC/4nats by which i mean the wallabies and Boks are key games where its not about rebuilding, or shaping towards anything else other then winning here and now.

rangers no good to the All Blacks, even though its not about rebuilding, u should never playt anybody whose future is somewhere else, i thought the same thing about SBW and was against his sleection for the first two bledisloe cups last year, but it didnt stop me from cheering for him.

the only player missing that i think should be there is ben afeaki. owen franks is the best tight head in NZ and the comp for that matter, and charles faumuina is also impressive and ive got no probs with his selection, but afeaki should still be there.
not too fussed about taumafuinas non selection though, IMO he needs to drop 10 kgs and prove hes capable of 80mins if required to do so, and right now its obvious he cant.

no piri weepu is a bit of a shock though, looks like aaron smith and barlow will be the senior heads at No9. feel bad for weeps, but after watching him against france, hes lost too much speed around the pack.
tj perenara can get a little ahead of himslef though, so i hope dosent try to do too much when he does crack. i also hope he gets his crack against argentina, cos i want smith and barlow to be the halves for all the wallabies and Bok matches.

i cant help but wonder if hika elliot should be there, btu EOYT might be more then enough, while the old heads of hore and kev plus coles continuing to expand his All Blacks experience should be enough.
will be keeping tabs on ged robinson when hes polaying for north harbour, hope he has a good one and ends up playing on the ALl Blacks EOYT. something tells me that if he dosent make it in the next year, he woll be heading overseas.

sam canes lucky to be in the squad, luke braid and matt todd have had better rugby season in 2013, but he was a real shining light for the All Blacks in 2012, so im not too fussed about it.

i hope both piutau and luatua get to start against the pumas, a lot of future All Black incumbent potential lies with the blues pair.

ive goit no worries what so ever, All Blacks will win the RC/4nats and will win it with another whitewash. the Boks and wallabies will always be an alpha level threat, but our top team should be too much for them.

GO ALL BLACKS!!!

@wfunston,

ur right about vito, i jumped the gun there, for some reason i naturally assumed he would be there, cos he should be there hansen, o_O

still a bloody good team though, and while i would love for luatua to be in the squad, i would probably go for cane over luatua.

the way messam played against the brumbies is making it very easy for me to ignore the fact that his season as a whole has been below par, IMO both vito and lutua have had better seasons, but the messam we saw against the brumbies in the finals, dammmmmmmmn, O_O

dosent matter who we pick really, cant see this team losing to anyone anywhere in the RC/4nats.

Dont take the whingers on here like snapster and co slating Meyer too seriously. Provided Morne kicks well at goal we should do well enough.

Please keep it real kiwis

@beeno1 aka storminged,

LMAO, nice emoticon, :oP

chest beating when theres no good reason too is ur forte, meyers rugby squad will continue SARUs policy about starving SA trophy cabinet.

u still going on about McCaw??? well heres some pretty looking numbers for u after the dunedin test,,,

Pos   T/A Pts K/P/R MR CB DB OL TO Tack LO Pen Y/R F McCaw 0/0 0 0/2/7 46 1 1 0 2 10/1 1/0 0 0/0 F Louw 0/0 0 0/0/8 11 0 0 0 0 6/0 0/0 3 0/0 F Alberts 0/0 0 0/0/5 10 0 0 0 1 6/2 0/0 0 0/0 N8 Vermeulen 0/0 0 0/1/9 7 0 0 0 1 5/0 2/0 0 0/0

pfffft, three Bok loose forwards = 1 McCaw on a normal day, :o)

All Blacks vs Boks is a matter of how much the All Blacks will win by, not who will win. make no mistake its going to be another whitewash.
meyers Bok squad was a pathetic sad joke and im confident were going to slaughter the Boks in both eden and ellis park.

Absolutely no surprises there. New year, same team. If I was some of those Chiefs men, I would feel pretty hard done by. Whats the point of going hard all year when you are never going to be selected anyway unless something freakish happens.

Hansen is way too safe. Look, that is a good team and they will beat anyone on their day but its time to start testing youngsters. How long must guys like Beauden abd Cruden play back up to the awesome, but ageing Carter?? Matt Todd..Way better than Cane in my opinion gets left out for old McCaw still.

Every year NZL produces new talent yet the AB team remains pretty much the same. I feel Hansen is going to have a problem once these men can no longer play. Not a very forward thinker is old Hansen. He cant complain when he loses talent to the pound as he has done with Ranger.

Coaches always want to bring in new blood gradually & let the old guys prove that they can't get it done anymore. Weepu has gone and many others before him. Only time will tell if the coach gets the timing right with players. Hansen had  done ok so far IMO.

@boklogic,

thats crazy talk, and ur way off with most of ur comments,,,

"If I was some of those Chiefs men, I would feel pretty hard done by. Whats the point of going hard all year when you are never going to be selected anyway unless something freakish happens."
i agree, a few of the chiefs can feel hard done by, but ben afeaki is the only one who should be in and isnt there.
and whats the point of going hard, WTF??? if thats what saffas think of the spXV, then know one from SA should be surprised to see that no saffa team has won a spXV title.
the reason the chiefs go hard is to win the spXV period.

"Hansen is way too safe. Look, that is a good team and they will beat anyone on their day but its time to start testing youngsters. "
rubbish, no ownder the Boks have been the All Blacks punching bag for so long, u guys have no idea when to start experimenting and when to test players.
u dont start testing youngsters against the Boks and wallabies, unlike SA, in NZ we like winning, in fact i would go so far as to say that we love winning, and the just cos the All Blacks are favourites dosent mean u take the Boks and wallabies lightly.
there are plenty of tests throughout the year where we can test the young guns, like any test not against france, england, Boks or wallabies, but for those 4 u ALWAYS play ur best, accepting mediocrity is a the Bok way, not the way of the All Black.

"How long must guys like Beauden abd Cruden play back up to the awesome, but ageing Carter?? Matt Todd..Way better than Cane in my opinion gets left out for old McCaw still."
so replace the best flyhalf ever who happnes to be the form back in the world now that the All Blacks are about to play the two teams (Boks and wallabies) who fare better against them then any other team in the world??? o_O
cruden and barret have had plenty of game time, and they will get more before the year is out.
just look at McCaws numb ers from the dunedin test, the combined efforts of three Bok loose forward could barely keep up with him. i dont blame anyone who dosent support the All Blacks for not wanting McCaw to play, theres a reason why hes the greatest rugby player ever and if he didnt play for NZ, i would wnat him to retire ASAP and bring in someone else who we might de better against.

"Every year NZL produces new talent yet the AB team remains pretty much the same. I feel Hansen is going to have a problem once these men can no longer play."
new All Blacks since the beginning of 2012
dane coles*

ben afeakai
sam cane
steve luatua
tarewa kerr barlow
tj perenara
aaron smith*
beauden barret
julian savea*
charles piutau
matt todd
jeremey thrush

perenara is yet to play, being the only All Black newborn in the squad, but other players marked with * and in bold leeters are the All Black incumbents.
u know very little about the All Blacks if u think that hansen hasnt been preparing for the exodous of the elders for whatever reason, just look at the three halfbacks, 109 tests cpas between the lot of them and no weepu in sight, mean while in th republic, welcome back du preez.

"Not a very forward thinker is old Hansen. He cant complain when he loses talent to the pound as he has done with Ranger."
rngaer was a loss, but he signed with montipellier in 2012 to play after the 2013 spXV season, he did not sign in 2013.
after his form in 2012 saw him as one of the comps undisputed best, he had a change of heart and started making comments about prefering to stay with the NZRU and the All Blacks, but he was told by motipellier that if wanted to get out of his contract, he would have to pay $300,000 dollars or 2.3 million rand and rnager couldnt afford it.
had ranger not signed back in 2012, he would be playing for the All Blacks right now.
hansens not complaining, nonu and smith maybe on the wrong side of 30, but they always come though for the All Blacks. when u look at what the All Blacks have achieved over the years, IMO its that record which is testamant that NZ bring in new players much better and integrate them in the fold a lot better then anybody else.

perfect squad for the RC/4nats, cos we want to win and not have to rely on the boot of the goal kicker to do so.

That's the best you guys have in the country.

A little shy at 2 but other than that a good solid squad. A few new boys in the mix. I too would be happy if I were you.

I rate Anscombe highly. I suppose he needs another season like he's had this year to stake a claim.

Where's Weepu? Is he injured? Overseas contract perhaps?

Do you guys have an issue with Ged Robinson? Surely he deserves a look? I thought he had a awesome season allbeit for the hapless Rebels.

@Cleancut: Weepu was dropped and replace by tj perenara. Hansen said Weepu is not fast or fit enough for the style of rugby the ABs want to play.

Ged Robinson really does deserve a look! He did fantastically in S15. As far as I can tell he is eligable for ABs and we have two aging hookers who need more than Coles as a backup. We should keep an eye on Ged, maybe he will be on the scene soon.

@mr win and cleancut,

geds not eligible for the All Blacks, as he played for the rebels, u must play for NZ spX franchise in order to qualify for the All Blacks in the june test series and the RC/4nats.

ged will be eligble for the EOYT though, as he is playing for north harbour (have to double check that) in the ITM, and that is the other requirement in order to be elgible for the EOYT only.

Sasuke San: thanks for the info. Glad he could be considered for EOYT at least. They could test him out then.

If he shows he has something to offer, I am sure if Hansen told Ged him he was on the radar they could find an NZ S15 to take him & this would make him eligible for later.

Sasuke...there just concerned that there team is filled with doubt and concern where AB AGAIN..is full of strength, experience and youth. A perfect combo for the future and the present. I to would like to see big ben in the eoyt. I would of liked to see Weepu in the mix for a 2nd half attack, where he can make a difference if the youngsters stumble and A Smith hasn't up till last few SR games looked very sharp. Still very capable. Cane still needs to pull finger out, still a good ball carrier just needs to smarten up.

Sas, I wouldn't say the Boks are the AB's punching bag. Last year if not for unfortunate events that rarely happen, we would have been 2 from 2 against the AB's. Dunedin was a rare occasion and I doubt Morne will ever kick that badly again. If he just had a half decent day with the boot, AB's would have been slaughtered. He didnt. He had an incredibly freakish, never to be seen again day with the boot.

In SA we lost Goosen as we were settling in to the game. We were up and looking good. Jantjies, the worst of our franchise flyhalves comes on to the park and we fell apart in both defence and attack. He was clearly a man that was out of his depth and the AB's noticed this and exploited us there. Had Goosen not gone off, we would not have lost our shape. Not saying we would still have won but I guess we will never know.

Boks lost way too many key guys around the same time. Bismarck, Bakkies, Matfield, Schalk, Juan Smith, Fourie Du Preez amongst others all around the same time. We also had a change of coach to add to that so the transformation was not where it needed to be. The Boks need to settle on some combinations now and build around that. What is key for us though is that in Etzebeth and PSDT, we have a potentially world beating lock pairing again. Louw has really pulled through as a great flanker. Vermuelen can be a world class 8. We need Bismarck back and playing well. Our problems are at 10 now. Goosen seems to be the only great potential. Morne is leaving (he is not the answer anyway) and Lambie is going backwards as a player!

Serfontein is proving a handy replacement for De Villiers but hopefully de villiers has 1 more WC in him. We can not replace Habana and JP on the wings right now and at least with Willie at 15, we have a game breaker. We have the players to take it to the AB's no doubt but its cohesion we lack that the AB's have. Too many guys doing too many different things.

If you look at the Kiwi super 15 teams..They all play the same style. Plenty skill. So when it comes time to select the AB's squad, its pretty simple. Pick the guys who best execute that game plan. Now with SA sides, we have the Sharks who are the most "balanced" side in terms of forward and back play. The Bulls are all forwards, the Cheetahs are helter skelter, back yourself to have a crack from anywhere type, the Kings were average, the Stormers base their whole game around counter attack and defence.

So many different coaching styles running through these players that when they get to the Boks, they cant adapt. How can you play Habana and De Villiers with a flyhalf like Steyn who is coached to play to his forwards. We need a uniform playing style in SA so these players are well drilled, just like the AB's and then I have no doubt we will start squaring stats up a bit..

Umm, Sas you sure there isn't some creative book keeping going on here? Just look at the three halfbacks, 109 tests cpas between the lot of them and no weepu in sight... 109 tests between Aaron Smith, TKB and TJ Perenara...Aaron Smith must've played more tests than I realised!

@boklogic,

"Sas, I wouldn't say the Boks are the AB's punching bag. Last year if not for unfortunate events that rarely happen, we would have been 2 from 2 against the AB's."
did u mean that unfortunate event called losing??? LMAO, :oP
theres was no chance of u being 2 from2, i know saffa call the dunedin test a win, with SA definition of winning being we nearly didnt lose, but u might want to take another look at the sowetto test, cos the Boks got smasehd left right and center.
each to their own, but IMO the boks have been the All Blacks punching bag, one win in the last 3 years and IMO it will be 1 win in four years after the RC/4nats.

"Dunedin was a rare occasion and I doubt Morne will ever kick that badly again. If he just had a half decent day with the boot, AB's would have been slaughtered. He didnt. He had an incredibly freakish, never to be seen again day with the boot"
going to be hard to explain given SA errrrrrr schooling has a lot to be desired, but had morne been succesful with his second penalty, theres no telling for sure if morne would have gotten the opportunity to even have a shot at his last two goals.
lets say mrone kicks his 2nd penalty, the result is restart at the halfway line from the All Blacks.
but he missed his shot meaning it was a restart at the 22, theres no way anyone can tell with certainty whether the Boks would have even recieved those penalties, it could have easily led to All Black tries.
the only thing that is certain is that the All Blacks won, period.

"In SA we lost Goosen as we were settling in to the game. We were up and looking good. Jantjies, the worst of our franchise flyhalves comes on to the park and we fell apart in both defence and attack. He was clearly a man that was out of his depth and the AB's noticed this and exploited us there. Had Goosen not gone off, we would not have lost our shape. Not saying we would still have won but I guess we will never know."
thats definately one one eyed way of loking at it, but to say that things were going the Boks way when goosen was on the field shows me that u watched the game once and have only seen at best the odd highlight of that match since, cos thats the biggest load of BS.
All Blacks were building momentum from about the 25 min mark, it was building and building until whitelock  crashed over goosen to score a try, from then on in it was the All Black show as they gave the Boks a good dealing too as we gave them their 2nd whitewash in three years.

"Boks lost way too many key guys around the same time. Bismarck, Bakkies, Matfield, Schalk, Juan Smith, Fourie Du Preez amongst others all around the same time. We also had a change of coach to add to that so the transformation was not where it needed to be.!"
jerome kaino, brad thorn, corey jane, jimmy cowan, richard kahui, mills muliaina, sivivatu, SBW. All Blacks have lost key players, plus All Blacks got a new coach the same time as the Boks.
every team in the world has lost key players, always happens after the RWC,
at least the Boks can still call on players not based in SA, All Blacks would be even more lethal had we been able to call on our talent overseas.

"If you look at the Kiwi super 15 teams..They all play the same style. Plenty skill. So when it comes time to select the AB's squad, its pretty simple. Pick the guys who best execute that game plan."
i would say that summary has little to no thought, but if u dont follow and regularly watch the kiwi teams, it would be easy to come to that conclusion.
crusaders and chiefs play similar styles, the team from 1 to 22 are all synegrised and play the not only the most balanced rugby in NZ, but in the whole spXV. chiefs are winning the ones that matter though, the last two semifinals etc, and that is why they have won back to back titles and the crusaders are left going grrrrrrr.
hurricanes are very similar to the chiefs, will attack the fuck out of anything, but theres discipline. the main differnece between them and the cheetahs in 2013 is the forwards and easier fixtures.

"Now with SA sides, we have the Sharks who are the most "balanced" side in terms of forward and back play. The Bulls are all forwards, the Cheetahs are helter skelter, back yourself to have a crack from anywhere type, the Kings were average, the Stormers base their whole game around counter attack and defence."
i wouldnt say the bulls are all forwards, it maybe the core of their team, but their backline play when ludeke had the balls to try it was one of the most dangerous looking in the comp.
stormers dont counter attack, they play the territory game only. will smother the defence into thier 22 and as soon as they get possesion, then they will risk an attack. the only other time they attack is when time is a factor and they are behind, or their lead is enough that they wont lose. not a single trace of attacking rugby can be found in the stormers DNA under coetzee. their defence on the other hand is the best of the best.

Sasuke, you certainly schooled Smallcock with that comprehensive reply.

Have to say, it's a bit embarrassing for the rest of us Springbok fans having such ignorant fellow supporters (or alleged supporters anyway) who get bitch-slapped every time they open their stupid traps.

wfunston, I, and a lot of other kiwis asked the same question when Cane was first selected. He wasn't (and still isn't) consistently as starter for the Chiefs so how come he is ahead of Todd and others for the AB selection.

Sasuke San will have a full answer, all I know is Cane is seen to have fantastic potential and his style of play must fit into Hansen's strategy/game plans. In one game when he played along side McCaw he was fantastic (confident, technically good and all over the field). The coaches must see this & more in Cane because they sure are high on him.

...Nah mate...wasting yr time asking anyone around here about the Mighty Chiefs coz they've been wrong all year.

You need to go to the Dave Rennie the Super coach and future AB coach who has rotated his players brilliantly. As Rennie has stated Tanerau Latimer and Sam Cane are the best open side flankers in the business.

If the Crusaders loosies were so good then how did the Chiefs get 10 points ahead of them on the table?

Or even beat them a couple of times . Hansen is to Canterbury what Meyer is to the Bulls and their will always be a regional bias - one could perhaps say that's their perogative.

Don;t expect the Chiefs to get any recognition as the media focuses on the glamour sides like the Blues with their knighted coaches and the Crusties with all their ABs. As seen in last years NZ sports awards where the Chiefs were completely overlooked.

We all know Rennie was the deserved winner as he has built up the Chiefs to what they are today from nothing whereas the award went to Hansen for a team he inherited.

Not that the humble Chiefs are seeking the limelight. The Mighty Chiefs will soldier on regardless and they

are already targeting a Super hat-trick.

Nothing will diminish their self belief...

Rooinek - We talking rugby here. Stop being the little asshole in the class that doesn't follow so tries to disrupt to be involved. That kid usually ends up 50+ years old and still taken as a joke..WOW...not far off am I. I must have really hurt you for you to only post when you can have a go at me..Haha sorry Rooi. Its just too easy. You are a clown. Dont be surprised ;-)

Sas - Very easy to take a guys statement and put your own spin on it but take the statement as a whole. I can also take your statements and break them down with my own spin but its clear for all to see.

Ps. Mils was being left out for Dagg. Cowan was a fill in too. Kahui was shoved on the wing to fill a gap. Smith is your starter. SBW couldn't crack it (for some reason) over Nonu. Those guys are all good players but dont come close to what our players were for us. All were replaceable if not already replaced.

Every kiwi team plays the same. Only difference is the Chiefs and Crusaders are better at it as their structures are better. Hurricanes attack anything too but they just more susceptible to mistakes. Just like the Blues.

Stormers dont counter attack? Joe Pietersen, Habana and Aplon are always looking to have a crack. They may not get the desired result all the time but they like to run it so that is an untrue statement.

Just like you say that the Boks may not have got those penalties had he slotted his second, I can say that the AB's will not have got that momentum if Jantjies was not on. See Sas, we can all put our spin on statements (except Rooinek, he isn 't smart enough). I have no doubt the Boks would not have crumbled as they did if Goosen had stayed on. Cant play a test match with a club flyhalf and thats what we had. A nervous, useless 10 against the best in the world and it showed. These games are on a knife edge. Moments influence the outcome and Jantjies coming on was exploited time and time again. Every Bok around him had to help him with his job whilst neglecting theirs!

PS..Dont compare your new coach with ours. Your coach has been with the team for years. Ours came in fresh! Really no comparison. Hansen picked up where Henry left off. Ours started out from scratch.

Chiefs deserve the Championship (Coaches, players & the long suffering fans). I agree with you on  that Brycy.

Just_win, I do like Cane but Todd has been on fire for the last 3 super seasons. Just to prove I don't have blind bias, I would understand if Latimer were chosen over Todd and Cane. I think Hansen & co. may feel they have invested too much time in cane to drop him?

Brycy (and Just_win), congrats to the Cheifs, they get up when it counts and deserved their second consecutive title. I do still think the Crusaders are always the team to beat though,  there is a reason they were firm favourites at Waikato! I do think they have picked up the nasty habit of choking... As far as the best openside in the business, I think McCaw is yet to prove that he isn't. To me Todd is looking more McCaw-esque every day

Boklogic keep schooling the kiwi bird brains and perhaps one day they may have half a clue!

rooitiwt where are you living these days - nz?

All macaaaw's stas are a load od crud simply becasue he is commonly known as mcheat - bwahahahahahahaha average player now over the hill. The abs need to renew. Remember Dunedin and Twicks and see if you can find some forwards as your fancy pants netball playing backs can be shut down - once that happens and the abs forwards are being smashed its all over.

Beeno offering the kiwis some sound advice.

The tears flowing here are best understood as being -

We have little to worry about but bent kiwi refs worth 20 points or more a match to the kiwis and of course injuries that can decimate any squad and ruin chances of building continuity and team work etc.  The kiwi refs can be expected t ogo into overdrive this season but will be hard pressed to produce results.

Coming back to the AB squad...Can any Kiwi's shed some light on why Andy Ellis is "lost" to NZ rugby? Surely with 3 scrummies in the squad, a place could/should have been made for Ellis. He is probably NZL's best scrummy in terms of all round ability. Has he done something in the past to fall out of favour? Is he just a rebel in a squad? I wouldn't think so as he seems like a gentlemen and team man.

As for Cane. Definately a case of investing a lot in him as confirmed by AB selector on Reunion tonight. I think they so badly want Cane to be good as he is pretty big and has leadership qualities but he is just not that good. Todd offers way more!

@boklogic,

regarding some of ur comments,,,

"Sas - Very easy to take a guys statement and put your own spin on it but take the statement as a whole. I can also take your statements and break them down with my own spin but its clear for all to see."
im not taking ur statement and putting a spin on it, im quoting ur actual posts and replying to them. its easier for me to do it this way when there are a number of issues raised, its how i roll with everyone who posts multpile topics or examples i wish to debate or add onto, its not just u. and if u look carefully, i pretty much did comment on ur whole post.

"Ps. Mils was being left out for Dagg. Cowan was a fill in too. Kahui was shoved on the wing to fill a gap. Smith is your starter. SBW couldn't crack it (for some reason) over Nonu. Those guys are all good players but dont come close to what our players were for us. All were replaceable if not already replaced."
first of u need to remember why these players were mentioned in the first place. u said (tot the tune of the worls smallest violin) that one of the many reasons for the Boks getting whipped recently was the fact that Boks had lost heaps of players and brought in players and the transisiton hasnt been smooth, compared to the All Blacks who had.
i mentioned mils being left out cos he has been a key component to the All Blacks success against the Boks the last three years, but if by ur logic i cant use him as an example, then WTF are u using juan smith as ur example, a player who hasnt played for the Boks since 2010??? o_O
the rest of ur comments on the All Black players shows u know next to nothing about the state of affairs within the All Blacks.

cowan wasnt a fill in, he was the incumbent half back all of 2010 and 2011, but henry correctly played him at the right time, he had very average RWC form though, and fell down the pecking order as a result, but make no mistake, he was a key player for the All Blacks.

kahui was shoved on the wing to fill a gap??? not one iota of clue bro, not one. for a casual observor, it would be easy to see kahui as a gap filler, but his career was plagued with injuries, so his test numbers isnt as high as is should be, but watch 2011 and u will see exactly why he was the incumbent, not gap filler for the All Blacks. gap fillers dont make players of the claiber of sivivatu miss out on squad selections.

SBW couldnt crack it over nonu. the All Blacks first 5 tests in 2012 had SBW wearing the 12, not nonu. the only time nonu wore 12 was when SBW had to leave for his japanese games. BTW this was the first time the All Blacks picked a player who had already declared he would be playing overseas (something i disagreed with), more testament to just how much more rated SBW was over nonu.

not as good as ur players, pfffffffft what ever, but ur wasting ur time trying to tell me that dribble, watch the bulk of the All Black/Bok tests with those players to see how they stacked stacked up against each other, i can gurantee u i will be the only one smiling.

"Every kiwi team plays the same. Only difference is the Chiefs and Crusaders are better at it as their structures are better. Hurricanes attack anything too but they just more susceptible to mistakes. Just like the Blues."
all NZ teams play attacking rugby, not just the chiefs, crusaders and hurricanes, its why NZ conference was the only conference where every team scored 40 or more tries and also the only one where one team (cheifs) scored 50 tries.
i can get into the differences of the NZ spXv franchsies, but it would be wasted on u, not in a make fun of u way, but in a u just wouldnt really bve interested, given ur innocent but ignorant comments on NZ rugby in this thread.

"Stormers dont counter attack? Joe Pietersen, Habana and Aplon are always looking to have a crack. They may not get the desired result all the time but they like to run it so that is an untrue statement."
in the hurricanes game against the stormers, joe peiters on cacthes the ball outside his 22 and has habana on his outside, and de jong on his inside, the defenders in front of him are toomaga allen, matuu and karl lowe, a prop, a hooker and flanker whose as slow as vermeulen, the hurricane defenders running are covering huge grounds between them and what does joe do??? u guessed it, he boots it deep into the canes 22. this is just one example i can recall but i know there have been a lot more.
when the stormers played the lions last year, SA commenattors were talking about how rubbish the stormers were for not going for the tries, despite them at the time needing a bonus point to surpass the chiefs on the ladder. this is the very nature of the modern day stormers rugby, zero attacking nous.
take habana out of the team and watch the stormers fall into attacking debt.

"Just like you say that the Boks may not have got those penalties had he slotted his second, I can say that the AB's will not have got that momentum if Jantjies was not on. See Sas, we can all put our spin on statements (except Rooinek, he isn 't smart enough)."
sigh, :o/
like i said it wasnt a spin and if u were to read what u worte originally, plus my reply, u would realise that u just proved my point, it might take u awhile to fighure it out, but u will.

the fact of the matter was, the momentum was already with the All Blacks when goosen was still on, if u dont beleive me, watch goosen get steam rolled by whitelock as the All Blacks score a try.
ive watched that game at least 10 times easy with in a fortnight of it being played, i dobut u have watched it more then once, other wise u would know that.

"I have no doubt the Boks would not have crumbled as they did if Goosen had stayed on. Cant play a test match with a club flyhalf and thats what we had. A nervous, useless 10 against the best in the world and it showed. These games are on a knife edge. Moments influence the outcome and Jantjies coming on was exploited time and time again. Every Bok around him had to help him with his job whilst neglecting theirs!"
wacth the dunedin test and take a look at how goosen opened the door for aaron smith to score the crucial try.
watch the sowetto test and see goosen not in position to help defend the line and force hiom to quickly rush and fail to stop whitelock, SA commenattors even mentioned this a number of times, but they and i are being harsh under the circumstances.

PS..Dont compare your new coach with ours. Your coach has been with the team for years. Ours came in fresh! Really no comparison. Hansen picked up where Henry left off. Ours started out from scratch."
fact,
2011 ABs coach -  henry
2011 Boks coach - PDV

2012 ABs coach - hansen
2012 ABs coach - hansen

a new coach is a new coach no matter how u spin it, but those that do pay careful attention know that their are vast differneces in the style that henrys All blacks played and hansens of last year. breakdown control has taken a back seat to breakdown clearnce for one, and then their are many new little things too.

as for ur question regading andy ellis, again, no clue regarding NZ rugby. theres a reason perenara, barlow and the best half back passer in the game aaron smith are all in the team, their style is more condusive to what the All Blacks are trying to achieve.
