 One of the better players on the pitch for the boks. Got stronger as the game went on. Sometimes he did not get much support, and the Argies were all over him when he went to ground- often playing the ball offside and on the floor.

Must say it is the first good game I have seen him play for the boks. His other games he has been very average at best. I would say he probably had more runs than any player on the field, and unlike some players he seems really fit to last 80 minutes.

With Bismark out for the year- he is now our first choice hooker.

Agree what a performance from Strauss, everytime somebody broke the line he was next to that player for the pass.

@Sharkbok

kevin Pietersen? WTF?

Regarding Strauss...

He is without doubt the form hooker in the country right now, with Burden no far behind.

I'm glad to see him (Burden) getting a fair chance.

It must have been tough at the Sharks with Smit and Biz ahead of him in the pecking order.

Good on him for sticking with the union.

He had the best mentors!

Hey Chippo, what about Carter at 8? Or SBW playing 2?

Here's a reminder if you drank to much this past weekend.

I'm not 100% convinced about Adriaan Strauss because while he's always there to receive the pass when the line is broken, who is doing his job at the rucks and mauls? Bissie is enormously far ahead of any other hooker in SA and the world for that matter because of his work rate in the tight-loose. The bonus with Bissie is he has the ability to be mobile as well and sometimes gets involved with some enterprising attacking/running stuff, but not at the expense of his primary role which is enforcer at the breakdown, pilferer, ball-carrier, ruck clearing, etc.

Adriaan should carry out his primary job first, then if he got some time to spare, he can be a winger and a centre.

No doubt Bissie is an enormous loss for us and the timing is disastrous. Nonetheless, In Adrian we at least have a hooker that is making an effort to be counted and in his run out he was industrious, busy, enthusiastic and left it all on the field with not many mistakes to boot.

Pretty good effort when you look at the man he had to replace, as you said Green Bissie is by far the best hooker in the world!!!

he had some big boots to fill and i think adrian played very very well...dynamic runner he missed a few line outs i think but that is normal seeing that its pretty much a new lock combo and lifters for him to throw to
