Adter the Sharks debacle today - who must Meyer look at again

 Frans Steyn

 If all sharks are fit Meyer might look at any of:Beast, Bissie, Jannie, Steph Du Toit, Coetzee, Deysel, Du Toit minor and Kan Kan.
BacksReinach, Mcloed, Lambie, Jordaan, JP, Mvovo and possibly Frans at flyhalf. 
You see Mike you don't go by one jet lagged match. Yes the sharks were very poor etc.

 I agree with Beeno except that I don't think Mvovo is that good to be considered for Bok call.  If memory serves, he did the same thing dropping the ball as the last man last year against the ABs, and put the team under massive pressure.  He's fast an' all but he does struggle under pressure.

As for Lambie, he's got a fight on his hands if he's to be considered for selection; Pollard  looks the better of the two.  HM will most definitely pick Morne Steyn ahead of these chaps.   And then we have Goosen who probably looks more like a back-up player than a full monty.  


Deysel deserves a call IMO

 Morne and Pollard will be the two flyhalves and Lambie a utliltiy back selection?Goosen given another year to mature perhaps.

I am afraid that every time Frans Steyn played - he gets worse.  His first three kicks today were wildly erratic and absolute rubbish.   When other players make breaks he turns up after the forwards.   Slow and useless and that is a fact.
However, after his June tantrum he is unlikely to feature in any plans of Meyer.   If h was  any good there may have been some reason to call him back - but is stats show he is basically mediocre.

I would  still go with Pollard as flyhalf.  Lambie was perhaps not really matchfit - but he was disappointing today.   But then there were only four Sharks players today that showed anything positive and they were Reinach, Coetzee, Bismarck and Du Toit. 
Lambie and Jordaan showed an ability to run with the ball - but their defense was questionable - the rest actually showed nothing positive.         

Questionable? Waaaaaahahah! Lambie and Jordaan made a combined 14 out of 23 tackles! What question did you want to ask?

The problem was not as bad as Fransies's was last week where he missed more tackles than he made.   However, the situation is questionable since there were so many poor kidking going on that the players had to face constant counter-attacks - which made the work of especially the two players very difficult.   In the case of counter-attacks - Fransie was nowhere to be seen an he made enough aimless kicks himself.     

 Well if you are looking for Frans you might consider a few facts. Firstly Frans made more tackles than any other Sharks back. Secondly Lambie got the ball 22 times....Frans got it 6 times. He passed three times, kicked once and ran twice. By contrast Carter got the ball 35 times! Slight difference! Playing outside Lambie was like living in a desert.
But given he kicked once according to match stats....one wonders who was making those bad first three kicks you blamed on Frans. And then you say: " he made enough aimless kicks himself"

Steyn must then feel like the other players felt like playing outside of him - they rearely ever get a ball passed to him..    Mozqart you are a discredited fool.   Just go and look at the game again.   He kicked the three kicks - one went directly out of touch and is given as a possession loss.   The figures you quoted are likely to be adjusted after editing, it happens normally within a day or two after the match.  For instance last week - it gabe steyn to make 2 tackles and missing 5 - after editing iot was chjanged to making 4 tackles missing 5.
Incidentally immediately after the match I checked the Steyn stats on ESPN - it credited him with 9 tackles - missing 1, It afterwards increased the missed tackles to 2. 
I could not get a breakdown for the points scored by Steyn on Foxsport - all it gave him is 2 points for the match - they gave Jordaan 13 points.  It gave Jordaan as having made 14 tackles - missing 4.   So I assume Jordaan's ESPN stats will be adjusted as well.     However, what it does show is the difference of performance between the 2 - the better player definitely was not Steyn a s alleged by you.
