As you no doubt are aware I forecast that Saturday will be a losing game for the Springboks.   I added further that I hope the Springboks will not be disgarced in the process and the question is - what next?

Let me ask what panic-buttons will be pressed and what Meyer could then do?   His first tendency would be to get the old players back in an effort to help out.    That could mean that he could try and get Matfield - age 35 - and Fourie Du Preez - age  30.   Excellent solution with a view to building up a team for the enxt World Cup.    After all both players can play in multiple positions with Matfield favourite position as extra center and Du Preez anywhere but at scrummy when needed there when amaul situation means a win of the ball by our forwards.   Matfield can also organize the line out calls - his speciality nobody else can do.

Problem is that both players are not match fit - but that would not bother Meyer,  since those two played for the Bulls.    The team composition will also be changed by increasing the number of Bulls in the team from 7 to 10 and reducing the number of Sharks from 6 to 2 and reducing the Stormers from 3 to 2.    One player from the Cheetahs.   The end result would be a Blue/Pink  Bulls team with very little else to be added.

The other options would be unthinkable - can you imgaine a Springbok team with only four or five Bulls in it.   Remember merit selection implies that the team SHALL have at least 50% plus 1 Bulls in it - so 8 is the answer at minimum.    The Blue Bulls (Springbok) team would look like this:-

15    Kirchner

14    Habana - ex Bull - that is good enough a recommendation

13   De Villiers - he cannot now drop De Villiers

12   Frans Steyn

11   Basson

 10   Morne Steyn

  9   Du preez

  8   Spies

  7   Potgieter

  6   Coetzee

  5    Matfield

  4    Van Der Merwe

  3   Kruger

  2   Rallepele

  1   Oosthuizen

Well - that team will lose even further than what is going to happen on coming Saturday.

What were you smoking?  Where is du Preeze in the Bok squad and said he will not be?

Potgieter is still on the injured list how come you have him playing?

Matfield - out of contention by his own admission.

No man, seriously you must get a new supplier that stuff you are smoking is clearly "off".

Ou Mike is loosing it badly here as the pressure gets to him. I call it PMT pre match tension and have noted its effect on some poster over the years.

try and keep some balance Mike - ideas of boks getting humiliatedare remote. Get a grip as ou sapster would say. Ou sapster though is another who is folding at the first sign of opposition.

Please harken unto lunatic who has a firm grip on things.

See ya after the game Mike and sapster.

Lunatic and Beeno

Do you really think I am serious about this thread?   I call it needling or stirring rather than anything else.   No I do think we have a 50:50 chance to win on Saturday - but have serious reservations about that in view of the form in Super 15 of nearly half of the team to be fielded,

Lunatic do you see the back peddaling already. Next it will be sapster saying he always thought Boks would win.

Now Mike has changed and is now siting forly on the fence. I suppsoe tha tis a reasonabl;e postion.

been oforcing a bit of rationality around here.

Bok by 10 points is my call and I am sticking with a Bok win!! No dilly dallying ums and ers and changing like the wind here!!

What we need is a poll

Boks win A

Boks lose B

I dont know C

Pluck up your courage and make  a call.

My call is A

We need a record as one can see already the shifting sands manouveres. Hahahahahahahhaha - Mike you are not setting a good example.
