i was looking forward to the games this weekend after the magnificent performances of last week and thought that we have really got some entertainment coming this week.

Come this week and what did we get?  The Crusaders = Gorce game was made up of more errors than can b believed.   The Crusaders attacking prowess was poor and they only managed to score one try - and be awarded two penalty tries as well.   The penalty tries they would never get from stronger teams and they got the first one after a Force player was carded.  This would not be the case against strobger opposing teams and one wonders where the Crusaders will get future tries from to win matches.

The game was characterized by handling errors- running and carrying balls aimlessly from one side of the field to the other and painfully inaccurate kicking out of hand.   This was a repeat of the chronically poor performance of the Crusaders against the Sharks when they could not beat a team playing virtually with 14 players for 65 minutes and with 13 for another ten minutes.    Really in many respects a disappointing match.

The same can be said about the Reds-Highlanders game.  Poor ball handling - multiple penalties - aimless kicking - says it all.   The team hat made the fewer errors and whose defense was slightly better than the other.   From a rugby perfrmance a poor show on both sides.

Crusaders 30-7. Thats all that matters, som of you sa fans seem intent on focusing on just the kiwi teams performance, from wat i saw Saders played just well enough to win, and overall deserved their win. You make your own luck, so regardless if the ref gave them two penalty trys, saders got them self into that posistion, you make your own luck, trying to deconstruct their performance and say they underperformed, and wouldent get that againgst stronger teams is elementary, saders are a strong side too, and your not giving any credit to the force for their contributions.

The Kiwis play their own style of rugby and they all have the same problems - so they can play spectacular rugby.   The moment they come up aga inst other teams the spectacular part falls away and we get the error ridden games like happened this morning.
Sure the Crusaders won - but the game was much more even than the scoreline reflected.
