This from Nienaber:

Nienaber added that winning the 2021 Rugby Championship title wasn’t a priority when he took the Springboks job. “The big thing when I got appointed in January 2020, the two big things we were aiming for were the Lions series and the World Cup. All the other tournaments were important but those were the big ones that we have to put our focus on… and we are still building up to where we were in 2019.

………

The RC, the 100th game against the ABs, our number one ranking…..not a priority. We are building towards the WC. That’s why we see so much tactical experimentation, building skills is more important.

……

More fodder for Harrassmus groupies.

Yet they’re not building any depth or introduced any new blood? The ABs have nearly a new team compared to the Boks 2019 team.. Are they expecting these guys to make it through a few more years and a World Cup injury free? Complete bollocks

"Building up". What steps have been taken to build up. We don't see any building up of skills or tactics. Plus, sure teams target games to win but only targeting Northern Hemisphere teams to beat seems stupid & hardly believable.

Stop knocking Nienaber he admitted on OZ TV that his plan worked against the AB's last Saturday so this next game is going to be walk over for the Boks.

Moz why can’t you just stick to the fact Neinaber said that without having to bring Rassie into it It’s a load of utter shit that the focus was only the Lions series

So, the Lions series was the big priority, but we actually played worse throughout that series. Funny. Poor Unteromlett will be spinning in circles trying to angle his way out of this one!

Org please pipe down. Your unhinged state is becoming grotesque.

As Keo said so wisely, we have our style and the wee abs have their.

The wee abs prefer dainty ballerina type rugby. We prefer more physical rugby. There are different ways to play, different styles. If we play their way we don't do it as well. They cant play our way.

The Boks attack can improve and it will.

Lets hope Rassie get more directly involved fast. Need him fully on board for gruelling year end tour when our players are exhausted.

Everyone needs o watch the K eo clip, particularly mozzzz and the org who haven't got a clue right now. How bigotry and bias blinds one!

I don't want us to win playing like we do now. Sorry. It's negative, unskilled robot rugby. We're better than this.

This is not our style never has been. We have never totally abandoned backline play for box kicking….under Naas, under Braam,  under Koen,  under Morne….all our kicking flyhalves…. we still moved the ball through the backs.

This is an extreme style, which  basically makes Rugby a roulette wheel. It might actually be the most effective way to play the ABs….giving us a 50/50 chance….as long as we recognize kicking the ball away with 90 seconds to play is stupid

But why limit yourself to a 50/50 roulette wheel when you are playing a desperately poor Lions team and an unsettled Aussie team.

And it all begs the question, do we really want to play the game this way….with no joy, just a grinding process. I can’t enthusiastically support anything so lacking in soul.

If the Boks only ran off counter attacks or/and overlaps, the style of play would be acceptable.

The Boks do not have the passing skills of the All Blacks to move the ball from side to side of the pitch. Maybe before the professional/creatine era, but in more recent years the Boks passing skills are not the strongest point.

The current style of overusing box kicks is boring. It is not a style of rugby that will make the Boks improve.
The Boks need their own brand of running rugby, they will never have the passing skills of the All Blacks.
It would be nice to see some first phase moves where the blindside winger cut the backline. The Boks can do short pop passes, albeit not the long floating passes the All Blacks can do to let people run onto the ball at pace.

There is not really a excuse....springboks has been passing a rugby ball for ages now? You telling me now all of sudden, they can only kick? We have a plethora of good backline players that can score tries and if we start combining our strong forward pay with good attacking backline play we will start winning again like in 2019. Krutch must wake up.
