All Blacks better with only 14 men?

... Everyone remembers the ABs epic victory over SA at their Ellis Park fortress playing with only 14 men for 20 minutes and events since has begged the question. Are the ABs better with only 14 men?

...When Danes Coles was sent from the field in Sunday morning's victory over England, the All Blacks were reduced to 14 men for the seventh time in 12 tests this year.

And, once again, it didn't seem to faze Steve Hansen's men one bit.

In the 70 minutes the All Blacks have been missing a man this season, they have actually outscored the opposition ... by a lot.

Since the opening three test series against England, the All Blacks have outscored opponents 27-9 while playing with 14 men, including three tries.

Those "opponents" just happen to be only two sides - England and Australia - who the All Blacks have faced seven times.

The Wallabies managed to outscore the All Blacks twice this season while having an extra man, on both occasions kicking a solo penalty.

10 minutes later: All Blacks 19-14.
Score with 14 men: All Blacks 3-0

Score when Tuipulotu sinbinned: Australia 25-15
10 minutes later: Australia 25-22
Score with 14 men: All Blacks 7-0.

Score when McCaw sinbinned: All Blacks 6-3
10 minutes later: All Blacks 9-6
Score with 14 men: 3-3

Score when Franks sinbinned: All Blacks 44-20

IMO one of the differences nowadays btwin the AB and the rest of the teams is this, the AB have achieved to keep all their defensive and attacking power when playing one man down and sometimes they even sum an extra grunt because of it.
The other teams usually go down in their performancesw when playing one man down and when this happens against the AB, this lasts usually take advantage of it and punish them.
The second Bledisloe at Auckland was a clear example of it, inmediately after McCaw was sinbined (3-3 was the score during it), Rob Simmons was sinbinned and the partial score during that time was 14-0 thanx to 2 tries for the AB. After that the game was almost decided.

 Hey BP ,Brycy ! It seems that this is one of the things the ABS plan for since 2007 ,it just seems to goad them and make ém go up a few gears ! They also seem to keep the ball in hand a lot more too .

 Clearly different penalties need to be introduced for All Black foul play as the sin bin is not working. I would suggest the guilty player and two others of the opposition captains choice be removed from the field for ten minutes and in the case of a red card for the entire match and their next fixture as well.

As the American commentators cunningly observed, it appears that the All Blacks have found a way to have 20 players on the field with no one noticing. Losing one means they don't get in one another's way so much, so it's only logical that they'll do better. More is not always better, Kiwis. Except on the scoreboard, of course.

 I reckon the Mighty Boks  need to unveil their 2-headed loose-head/tight-head prop monster ! One head to do the thinking the other for to be smashing Englanders back !

The two-headed prop was trialed but the smashing head kept picking its nose wondering where the thinking head is and got no smashing done, so we settled for Jannie instead who is a 2-in-1 deal: a smart doctor that can smash into stationary objects quite well (but apparently not so well into moving ones, particularly not if they're carrying a ball).

I remember when the hapless sharks happen to score more points than the saders. I pointed out at the time that the sharks sneakingly played with 13 men. This was an unfair advantage as the coach had less work to do & the sharks players were less confused about who to pass the ball to. Something has to be done about this disturbing trend Rooinek, do we need a rule change?
