The fact of the matter is that ultimately the All Blacks was the better team on the day - but there was some very average performances.   Maybe the conditions played a role - but I think that there may still be a problem with performances of some players.   My raings are as follows:-

15   -   Very, very average          -   5,5

Wings -  Average performances -   5,5

Conrad Smith                              -      7

Nonu                                           -       6

Cruden                                        -    5,5

Smith                                          -     5

Reid                                           -     5,5

McCaw                                      -     5,5  (penalties reduced rating - othrwise 6)

Other forwards                          -     5,5

Was somewhat disappointed in Cruden and Smith - not eally star performances in their cases.   Retallick was a passenger 90% of the time - so no real threat - that one.   Conrad Smith is a real star and was the best AB on the field.   Made the first try of the All Blacks.

@clevermike,

hmmmm had a hard time logging on here in the weekend, was interested in ur thoughts on the games and of course i wanted to see what ben10 had to say and as usual he didnt disappoint, he is literally a cyber prozac

the wingers were a highlight for me in the game, especially julian savea who had a great performance, high workrate and was a real handful for the pumas.

it wasnt crudens best game, but i havent lost an ounce of faith in him. conditions played a huge part in negating our backs, but poor decision making and a lack of basic rugby fundamentals didnt help either, running the ball in our 22, not giving aaron smith adequate breakdonw protection, these are all things that when toppled with the weather really helped out the pumas who fronted up that night, especially in the 1st half.

i cant help but feel that cruden and the backline will make amends at forsyth bar, especially under the retractable roof.

savea is a great talent amazing player. the conditions were tough so i reckon in a windless night the AB backline will be on fire again. old turnstile steyn must be having some sleepness nights i reckon
