I actually already changed two players - North and Tipuric - and replaced them with English players already named.  

My problem remains with the cheap players I picked last week - basically Swinson and Plisson. If they do not play - I will have to do some juggling and juggling reduces  trades.   I am pretty sure about Swinson - he actually had a reasonably good game.   And is hopeful that Plison remains as well - although not top class - he had a reasonably good game as well.    If not I will have serious budgetary problems as well. 

Lets wait and see the other team announcements.

I checked the various websites and all I could find is that -

*  Ireland is set to announce their team tomorrow;

*  France is using the same squad - but added a loosie (Diarra) to replace an injured player (Burban); and

*  There is no news about the Italian and Scottish teams.

Although in principle I agree with you about making squad changes - I was so pissed off with George North and Tipuric - I changed them immediately for Brown and Billy.   Both are highly unlikely to be left out in any event - and England is playing Scotland. 

I am much more worried about the French side - since I think they might change some of my cheap shot players.   Again - that is unlikely since the team put up a winning display against England - and St Andre is not the type of coach that  would change a winning combination.  

Afternoon all. For those supporters asking the Scotland team for the Calcutta Cup match will be announced on Thursday lunchtime.

There is no news from the French - they are playing hardball.  What they did announce that there are 5 players who was in the 25 member squad previously have been fropped from the squad for Sunday,  The new squad are the following:-

I just got into the Irish website and found the team - and then noticed you have posted it already - so you saved me some time.

I have thus far actually no need to make any changes to my fantasy side - but made two voluntary changes - already.   Thus far there is no need for other changes but I am waiting for the French and Italian teams.   I am particularly worried about the French team - since I may have to change two of my cheap players if they change their team for Saturday.   Would prefer to keep that one down to one change if even remotely necessary.

You are correct - I "bought"   Swinson for R497 000 and he is now $545 000 0 a value increase of $48 000 after one game. 

Incidentally when I put the yean together last week I spent $11 940 000 - leabinbg me with $60 000 in "the bank".   The team value this week after increase for value addition is $12 198 000 - representing a value increase of $258 000.  The increase of $48 000 in respect of Swinson was probably the biggest single increase in respect of the players I picked.

There is a problem with the fantasy game - and that is the amount of money made available to "buy" players.   There will never be enough funds as a maximum to allow you to buy twelve very expensive players. 

The key to the game is to try and find "cheap players that will perform and then use the funds to maximise the number of expensive players you van buy within the budgetary framework.  

Last year for instance the best "buy"  you could make was Labuschagne - whose price was $645 000.  He averaged 270 points per game - which was in fact a very high average.   Last year I read in a NZ newspaper operating another fantasy league competition with about 48 000 members - that he was the best value for money in their competition.   He was outscoring virtually all players 4 times his value in their competition.  You wont get him for $645 000 this year - his value is $1 152 000 - still a top buy in view of his high work ethic.
