Help - Heer Koning - I don't lnow where to find the Wallaby squad - do you know where we can find them - because my changes this week will depend upon which players  will be missing next week from the Aussie sides.

Ou Maaik, here is the 25 man Wallaby squad:

Wallabies squad: Ben Alexander, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Berrick Barnes, Nick Cummins, Dave Dennis, Saia Faingaa, Israel Folau, Will Genia, Liam Gill, Scott Higginbotham, Michael Hooper, Rob Horne, James Horwill, Digby Ioane, Sekope Kepu, Christian Lealiifano, Stephen Moore, Ben Mowen, James O'Connor, Wycliff Palu, Benn Robinson, Rob Simmons, James Slipper, Sitaleki Timani, Joe Tomane.

Please note, there will be a further 6 names added to this squad, I think on June 10. I'm pretty sure you can bank on one of Kurtley Beale or Jesse Mogg being one of those names and he'll definitely name a second scrumhalf.

Also note that it's never been a definite that these Wallabies will miss the S15 round 17 games and it's possible that some Rebels, Force, Waratah and Brumbies players in that squad might still be released to play in round 17, especially if the teams playoff chances are in the balance.

Perhaps not the right thread to mention this however I hope that you guys currently playing fantasy rugby will also partake in the Lions Tour to Oz which is now available on testrugby .com.

If the rest of the squad is only announced on 11 June 2013 then that would mean the 6 unnamed players will be available in Round 17.   I can see the Aussie Franchises screaming murder if at least some of the other frontline players are not going to being available for Round 17.   If they are it is going to be a great help for me in Round 18 when I would have 8 top bench players available to replace the missing Aussie teams and can then replace 6 of the Aussies and put most on the bench for future replacement if needed.

CleanCut

I am definitely in on that one.   Will be a nightmare though with the Lions playing some of the weaker Aussie teams and I am sure the teams - other than in the tests will be rotated against the weaker franchises - making Transfers problematic.  Have Fun

Great!!

The difference this time round, Mike, is that you will have picked up some experience and will no doubt present a good challenege to those seasoned players.

Should make for an interesting contest.

I am also expecting a big challenge from oimatey and canrugby.

Hope they join in the fun.

Lionel Mapoe, Jan Serfontein, Arno Botha and Werner Kruger replace Akona Ndungane, Wynand Olivier, Dewald Potgieter and Frik Kirsten respectively.

Also, rather ominously for all Springbok supporters, Zane Kirchner is included on the bench.

Interesting team selection - Meyer must have a huge hand in selection of the Bulls team - since he would insist on inclusion of Kirchner, Serfonterin, Hougaard and Botha in the Springbok squad.  I think Kirchner - the worest full back by a mile in Super Rugby this year - will have 20 minutes playing time and that would be enough for Meyer's purpose.   Hougaard was poor all year round and after the disaster on Saturday - Meyer would hope for something to base his selection on.

Intersting match-ups in the game as well.   I would like to see how Van Zyl compares with Hougaard and Labuschagne with Botha.   However, even if Labuschagne outplayed Botha and Van Zyl outplayed Hougaard -  comprehensively neither of the two will make the squad against Meyer's favourites.

Would also like to see how De Allende shapes up for the Stormers.

cheetahs, bulls, stormers and waratahs have been updated, :o)

bulls have named a very strong team and while im expecting the cheetahs to be the only attacking team, mornes boot will no doubt make it a close one.

barnes is starting on the bench for the waratahs, could be hes still not 100% after last weeks match maybe, but will be interesting to see how the waratahs go against a fired up saders team.

nice of fourie to be back in the stormes team, might bring him back into my team for the stormers match against the kings.

Canrugby

Oi-matey and Sasue seem to believe that they are not going to be in Round 17 - because of a statement made a while ago by Deans.   However, in a later statement Deans said that the squad as announced will be strengthened by th selection oof 6 further players on 11 June 2013.   If the 6 can play in Round 17 and the others cannot than ther is going to be one hell of a moan by the franchise coaches - especially those that can potentitally make it into the top six positions of the comptition - eg the Brumbies, Reds and Waratahs.   So I am not sure that it will happen - it can - but also may be dountful.

I lost both flyhalves I had in Test Rugby - Lambie is on a by and Barness is on the bench,   Cruden and Anscombe are out - so where to now?  I was thinking of Cooper and Leafiitano - what do you think?   Money is no problem so I can go for the more expensive players in any event.

 Can - the plan to hold out the current 25 man Wallaby squad for Round 17 and then name a further 6 players after they had participated in Round 17 is something that Deans and the ARU has had in the works before the Super Rugby season started  - you can read here .

It doesn't appear anything has changed yet, despite Jake Whites efforts - you can read about him meeting with the ARU here . I am not aware of  results of the decision that article references.

It would be a mistake I think to count on any of the players in the current 25 man squad playing in Round 17 however I could see certain players being released to play if they are desperately needed by their club (front rower) or in need of game time due to recent injury (O'Connor / Barnes) although there would be a massive outcry by the teams who they played against if their own Wallabies were not allowed to play.

I copied this team from am article in the New Zealand Herald.   Luckily I decided to add the numbers of the players to the names and then found that the team as published only had 14 names - the one wing was missing.   I then added the name of Zac Guildford to the team as no 11 - not that he was any good this year in games he played.  I hope I was right in doing so.  Bad journalism

The following teams are still outstanding with basically 30 hours to go before closing times for fantasy sport:-

*    The Highlanders

*    The Kings

I checked the  official teams websites and local Newspapers - but there was no team selections anounced as yet.    The only article I found in the Eastern Province Herald indicated that they intended to announce the team on Wednesday - but the decision was delayed  because of the fitness problem they have with Catrakillis.

Jake White apparently does not like Fantasy Sport.   It is not uncommon for him to announce teams very late and  even after the closing times of the fantasy teams and one has to wonder why he thinks announcing teams give away secrets to the opposition.      His team is in the second encounter on Friday - and frankly I hope the Hurricanes beat the shit out of them.

Blues: Charles Piutau, Frank Halai, Rene Ranger, Francis Saili, Waisake Naholo, Baden Kerr, Piri Weepu; Peter Saili, Luke Braid/ Brendon O'Connor, Steven Luatua, Ali Williams (c), Anthony Boric, Angus Ta'avao, James Parsons, Tim Perry.

Reserves: Keven Mealamu, Sam Prattley, Culum Retallick, O'Connor/Kane Barrett, Jamison Gibson-Park, Marty McKenzie, Jackson Willison.

That's not exactly the side named on the Stuff website because they had an error. They listed Jackson Willison at inside centre and also on the bench so I'm guessing #12 should be Francis Saili otherwise it would be listed as a change from last week. Hopefully they'll fix the error soon.

Otherwise, Waisake Naholo replaces George Moala, Baden Kerr replaces Chris Noakes, Stephen Luatua returns from injury and replaces Brendon O'Connor, Anthony Boric replaces Culum Retallick and James Parsons replaces Keven Mealamu. Luke Braid is bracketed with O'Connor.

rebels, blues, brumbies and reds updated, :o)

moalas been stood down for missing a training on sunday after the loss, hope the blues maintain their high standards and get rid of him next season, would have been better of giving his positioin in the squad to serwin stowers or ben lam, but their exclusion did help out the NZ 7s team.

rebels team is looking stong and should give the travel weary reds a run for their money.

and i cant see my hurricanes beating that brumbies team, will depend on who shows up on the day which is a coin toss, but im not hodling my breath.

My selections have been finalized - since I normaly do not include player from the Highlanders and Kings in my selections - when I did they cost me points.   However, Round 17 is bothering me badly - especially since the Western Force has a by this round.   I consequently ended up with too many players of the Waratahs in the game against the Crusaders - and none of the Crusaders in my squads.   The same applies to the Rebels.   I would have put in two players from the Force this week to cater for Round 17 - but the byes for the Chiefs and Force put pay to that one.

I hope at least some players from the Aussie squad will be released for Round 17 - otherwise I am going to have only 12 players in that round.   Bad news - that one.   I was hoping to have 14 in both rounds 17 and 18- leaving outonly the scrummie in both rounds - but I am sick when looking at it - without the Assie squad players.   If they are released - or it least some of them - I could end up with a full squad in Round 17 and 14 players in Round 18.

Lets hold thumbs on that one.

@mikey,

while it may screw up ur team big time in rnd17, i do hope those players arent available, as i have since round 10 been making selctions with rnd17 in mind and not choosing teams i would prefer.

as it stands, after this weeks transfers i will have 10 players plus 6 transfers for rnd 17, i will keep one extra in case any of the players i already have are injured.

@rooy,
next week on test rugby we will have another fresh batch of 20 transfers to play with, is this correct??? i hope so, cos im down to one right now, o_O

 I think we need to hang onto those Testrugby transfers as they are going to get very scarce towards the end of the compo.

A lot of switching and changing going on next two rounds and you only have 25 more transfers coming in Round 19 to last you through the rest of the league play as well as playoffs.

I think I've done my math right. On testrugby If I make all 12 transfers next weekend, and then do all 12 again the next weekend, I'll still have 5 trades left for round 18. Then get 25 for round 19.

Hopefully won't have to make all 12 transfers though.

This is tough. LOL

@canrugby,

matt toomua is a very good player, but im not sure how testrugby sees him, some of the ratings from test rugby is a little odd.

IMO he will be playing every game though, normally i would prob go with foley over toomua, but with brumbies taking on hurricanes and waratahs taking on the crusaders, toomua would be a great choice, if flyhalves was one of the positions in question for me this week, i would bring in toomua.

im considering bringing in inman into my center where hes guranteed to play and given that its against the reds who are returning from SA where they left zero impression, he might have big one.

Sasue

I saw in article in the Otago Times - where they say inter alia - that the team announcement will only be made after all injuries has been assessed.   Looks like Tamati Ekllison is the probem case - because the article refer to another player as the alternative outside center.   Hope you have got rid of him.

My Test Rugby side is as follows:-

FR  :   Adriaan Strauss, Ged Robinson

LO  :   Steven Luatua, Eben Etzebeth

LF  :   Lappies Labuschagne, Scott Higgenbotham

HB :   Christian Lealiifona, Quade Cooper

CE :   Rene Ranger, Jean de Villiers

OB :   Israel Folau, James O'Connor

I expect 4500 points from that lot.   LOL

By the way - I saw in the Otago times that Labuschagne is the best buy in Fantasy Rugby - he is in the team of 85% of all participants - and I was the one to advise you to go for him.  Hell,  should have kept my advice to myself - but you would have found out anyway.  According to the relevant report Labuschagne is the highest pointscorer in their competition and scored 50 more points than Morne Steyn - while costing less than half what Steyn cost.
