His tackling woes are becoming a major concern going forward. Allende seems to have no intent in the tackle, no desire to dominate his opponent.

Tokkie you are so out of touch, it's painful....the NZ Herald stats are live dumbass. How about you establish the facts before you start with the insults Punchbag.
Allende 5 carries 3 metres...no breaks....no defenders beaten....1 turnover.
This guy has lost all his mojo.
09 Jul 2016, 18:03#4
Actually, it was 6 caries according to ComradeMike's favourite stats site. And to make matters worse, he conceded a turnover and a penalty as well.

I will wait for the ESPN stats - BSters. By the way did you see the conditions this game was played in? Fabulous conditions for attacking rugby and then there was ano ther Burger effort to obstruct every backline move.

Well the Stormers gained 365 metres of which Allende contributed 3metres.....less than 1% of the total metres.....so explain to me Tokkie, how the hell did the weather accomplish that? And don't bother claiming it mostly impacted backline play, the backs gained 264 of the 365 metres.
Over to you Punchbag, tell us how it's all HM's fault....hahaha.

This is a repeat programme of Mozart. Last week 8 tackles mde -one missed - there wa no song and dance about that issue - - this week the moron found another excuse to attack - is there nothing else he can write about? Can you please explain how come Burger was constantly in the backline carrying more balls and than De Allende? what was he doing there if not playing the famous Meyer BS game plan? That would answer a lot of questions - dimwit you are and dimwit you will always be.

I am not impressed with De Allende this year - he was not up to the standard he was last year. There is a limit to which support for a player can stretch - and the limit is very near to be reached - if not already past the point where he is not regarded as being adequate in performance. I think he got used to being a crashballer and an unsuccessful one at that. I think that the sooner he starts to play his natural game - the better.

Mozart has a one-dimensional attack on De Allende - about his defense = while I look at all aspects of performance - both iro attack and defense. Mozart has a serious case of prejudice against most player - not related to performance at all. That is the difference between what I see in a player and what he sees. Problem is in his book every player is defective compared with the Meyer squad - where he hid deficiencies of players and hope others would not notice it.
11 Jul 2016, 17:45#12
Steep 5:"Mozart has a one-dimensional attack on De Allende - about his defense = while I look at all aspects of performance - both iro attack and defense."
These aspects of performance?"Allende 5 carries 3 metres...no breaks....no defenders beaten....1 turnover."
Oh wait............

Hmmm let's see what Tokkie has added with his 5 week view. Allende makes 29 out of 38 tackles......75%. What a great contribution. We can now pinpoint with his latest numbers 5 tackles out of 8 he is now at 63%. Allende is getting worse. Haha nice one Punchbag.
11 Jul 2016, 22:32#16
Step 6.
While forgetting what he said in step 3, he turns back to saying that De Allende is actually not all that k@k and that his woes are actually caused by the weather and others around him.

Mozart - who do you want to play at no 12 center? I said that De Allende did not perform on the level he did last year and is open for suggestions - but be careful I will check the stats of the player you recommend for the last five games as well. By the way a 25% missed tackle ratio is unacceptable - and I never said it was not - so come now - lets have your suggestion as inside center. And tell dofdoos he must come up with something as well.

Tokkie I have been saying for at least 2 years that the flavour of the day centres are hyped. True of Allende, Kriel, Step, JJ....not one proven success among them. Hell last weekend JP was more impressive than flavour of the day Venter.
We aren't producing centres....but of course nobody wants to deal with that reality. Half of the guys on here thought Taute was going to make it. Taute....give me a break.
Realistically we have to consider Janse Van Rensburg, more for his attack....defensively he is a 75% tackler. But we are in a deep hole because too many flawed players were played for far too long. Jean de Villiers was light years better than all these flops, but we couldn't get rid of him soon enough for some.
So how did that work out for us.

You have also ben trumpeting Fransie Steyn for two ears and now come up with a youngster who have started in about six or seven games for the Lions. You have been carrying on about De Allende - who was much better than De Villiers in his twilight years as a player. Sorry - but you have not come up with a player whom you support - but your dislike for De Allende was also when he performed much better last year than this year. Are you still wanting Fransie as inside center?

Geez Tok steady on you'll give yourself a conniption. Ease up on the send button.
I have come up with nobody....there isn't anybody to get excited about. But Janse van Rensburg left Step eating grass and right now he is much more effective than Allende. We can continue to hope that your favourites Allende, Kriel and Jordaan come good....or try something different. Doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is pretty delusional.
I may not have come up with any great options, but at least I haven't been suckered into believing very inadequate players were going to become effective test players....like you.

So you came up with nothing bar a sop story about Jean De Villiers - as expected a big moan without a solution. Stop living in the past and move to the present. You have supported more inadequate players in the past two years than anybody else - all reputation players whose performances went to the ridiculous level of incompetence in the last few years. We have to hope that you forget about the Matfields, Alberts, Steyns and all of those - when we may be able to have a logical discussion on the present scenario.

Nobody is a rugby god - they are players who can perform or under-perform. You are BS and that remains a fact as well. I have written about under-performance for years of some players - and has praised players who perform. However, I have never been a provincial dunce - like you.
12 Jul 2016, 09:34#28
Ok ... so you now don't have anyone to put on a pedestal.
Perhaps it's better that way.
Let's face it the list of your failed selections have grown day by day ... "Clever" ... Mike.
Your so called "expert" assessment on Strauss was laughable.
So was your assessment on Jesse Kriel and Morne, Lood, Serfontein, De Jongh, Alberts, Matfield, Jannie, Goosen, Vermeulen and now your latest flop De Allende joins the ever growing list of Mike's Ignorant analysis.
De Jongh's a wing and so is Mapoe ... apparently.
Please remind us of a positive assessment you've made on a player!! One that would actually make a difference in the Bok team.
Any player.
Take your time!!

Mapoe was poor in the tests and I think he may do better on the wing. De Jongh is definitely not a test standard player. I still do not rate Strauss - Marx is a much better player than him and to my mind Strauss is a major part of the scrummaging problems of both the Springboks and the Bulls - whether you like it or not.
