Basjan, you bored tonight?
Oops, did I strike a raw nerve here...don't worry...die "Stellenbosch" se boys kom weer...wehe
Draad, don't be so serious... probably a bit bored...miss the rapport and banter of old...the forum does not laugh enough.
Probably stirring a bit...well who cares...the battery needs re-charging...it's stone dead, in fact sometimes it feels that rigor mortis has set in....
Nope Seb, no nerve struck and not too serious here, just curious...we had to sing that song alot in music class, way back in primary school...was fun actually. "Sarie Marais" and "Suikerbossie" too...good old days. (Some English, Welsh and Irish folk songs as well)
PS, no Scottish songs, but we listened to the pipes!
Our first team used to form up in the matric garden before being led out by the lone piper down past the technical block and pavillions onto the first team pitch.
Scotland the brave and black bear. The school had a pipe band (not a big one) but it was always one bloke who led the first team out.
Remember the intervarsity matches at Coetzenberg...Maties versus Ikeys
What a gass when you are young and a bit wild.
The bands used to blare out "Die SACS kom terug" and the Tassies used to flow.
The Maties invariably used to win and then on to "Tollies"
The UTC students were hooligans...still are, even when they are toppies, in London
and nothing has changed, albeit this was not Coetzenberg but FNB and Pukke and Ikeys were not in this one being knocked earlier
and aha...I did find a game at Coetzenberg (correction Danie Craven Stadium...Coetzenburg is adjacent and no longer used for the main games) ...this one 2011
