will be decided after the winner of the foxsport fantasy superXV sarugby.com league.

heres a quickrun down for all those unfamiliar with fantasy rugby, u select a team with players from the various clubs in spXV.

each round the players u selected are allocated points based on perfromance, eg. tackles made, trys scored and many other various rugby plays.

each week due to the unpredictability of rugby, u are given a set number of transfers per round to change players which might be injured or not preforming, or even if their team has a bye.
ur mangment skills will be crucial as u ur team of spXV champions plays against others.

any queries feel free to post them below, but here is the link to the foxsport fantasy site,,,
superrugbyfantasy.foxsports.com.au/

follow the instructions and register and then build ur team which takes no more than 10-15mins. then join the league with the following code,,,
3671-4183 (sarugby.com league)

and u are well on ur way to officially earning sarugby.com bragging rights as the most knowledgable spXV guru around.

That is the most useless and user-unfriendly registration process I've ever seen.

I have now twice been through the process of picking a team, submitting it, then entering my user name, a password and my e-mail address. On both occasions, once I've done everything I get asked to log in and I've typed in the exact user name and password I entered during the registration process only to be told the user name and/or password is incorrect. If I ask for an e-mail telling me what those details are, then it doesn't recognise the e-mail address I just typed in.

I'll give it another bash tomorrow but if that Fantasy Comp ends up with no new members this year, it's because their registration process sucks.

Okay, I see what I did wrong and it was my own fault . . . although it's still a very user-unfriendly process. Ou Maaik, once you've selected your team and submitted it then you'll get a screen where you get asked to enter your team name and a password. The mistake I made was to enter my team name and password there. There is actually another button on the right where it says something about if you are a first timer, they require more details. Click on that button and you get to enter your password, e-mail etc.

One more thing, if you join Sasuke's pool, don't try and copy and paste his pool code, you have to type it in yourself for some reason.

Anyway, I am in and I've joined the pool. My team is the "Lightbringers".

just wanted to say that the top point scorer every week gets 1000 rand, while the overall winner will get 1000,000 rand, so hope that gets a few more people on board.

beeno, why dont u build a team and enlighten us on ur rugby prowess, or is it a case of talking the talk but not walking the walk??? o_O
the site is run by the australian foxsport division, not a kiw, so i hope u join up, cos im sure more posters would join for ac chance to outwit u, :o)

@mikey,

after u login to ur account, take a look at the toolbar directly underneath the foxsport fantasy superrugby logo.
u will see the options fnatasy home, my team, transfers and a few others.

click onto ur transfers to pick the players u want for in ur team for the first round.

a few tips, stock ur bench full of players that u will want to put in for rnd 2, as u will only be given 6 transfers for rnd 2. that way u can swap them easily for players that u want to bring in next round.

because ur new to the game, maybe using ur wild card is not the dumbest idea, that way a few rounds into it u can get a better feel for how to roll.
though generally its wise to save the wildcard for when u need it.
BTW the wildcard lets u have unlimited transfers for that round.

Sasue

I let the computer insert my team for me to shorten the process and now I try and change tthe players to my own selections.   At 1 I have at th moment  Jannir Du Plessis - I want to change that one to Ben Alexander.  When I click on Ben Alexander I get a message I already have three props and cannot proceed.   How do I get Du Plessis out of my selection as 1 to create the vacancy for Alexander?

Secondly there is a problem and that is in the first week there wll only be 2 Aussie matches.  Am I overstocking  by putting in players from only those four teams or do you advise that I forget the two games and concentrate on longer term selection putting in only those players I might keep for the longer term.   From Australia it is likely that there would in the longer term probably on 3 orly  4 players I may be interested in and the Waratahs is also not playing in the first week?

@mikey,

ahh i see, ok then. if u want ben alexander (who BTW is also in my team) u need to pick the prop u want to replace, do this by selecting the blackcircle with what looks like the play button a white triangle.
u should then notice that the jersey of that players team will disappear, but the name of the player still remains.

then select the player u want to bring in ben alexander and that will swap them around.

after u a re happy with ur swaps, u need to confirm by pressing make transfer in the blue tab located just above and beneath ur team.
this will take u to page where it shows a summary of the selections u wish to make. so u need to confirm once more by pressing confirm changes.

no mike i wouldnt forego the first week, but the all OZ first round has given some big complications to people who have done fantasy rugby regularly.
ur players on the bench most of the time are used to cover any last minute injuries or last minute personal changes to the teams, but this time round most folks are using the bench in preperation for the following week, as they normally wouldnt make a fantasy team filled with aussies.
if i were u i would pick the best team possible from rnd 1, then if worst comes to worst, u can always use the wild card for round two to pick the team u really want.

Ou Maaik, I'm going to pick a starting XV using only the four Aussie teams playing and then gradually transfer them out. Not sure if that strategy will work but there are enough decent Rebels, Brumbies and Reds players that I don't mind keeping for a few weeks.

I seem to remember I had to click on "transfers" rather than "manage team" to swap players.

There are also prizes, but you would stand a better chance winning the Lotto. Would you lot be interested in joining a pool if I start one?

Sasuke, yes, I have been playing Fantasy Rugby for some years now. This was a post of mine from last week regarding Fantasy Rugby.

Your site has a good scoring system and quite an accurate market I think . . . although there are some real bargains to be had if you look around . . . especially some of the Sharks players!

Thanks for all the help.  I at lats got it right.   Pick as many players from the four teams playing in Round 1 - with due regard to the allowable budget and then pick for the bench some players I think will do well in the next week - mostly from other fanchises not playing in the first week.   Hope that strategy work out.

Just as a joke  -in my original selection I was more than $1 000 000 over th mximum - then I ended up with too many players from the Reds and the Brumbies - so I am learning.   the latter problem should vanish by th second round - when you have the opportunity to select from more than enough franchises - but I still think the limit is too small.

Lucky enough - some players I would never put in are extremely expensive.- so you can have a real opportunity to pick performers and not hyped-up playes.

@dbdraad,

intially it takes a whiel to get into it, twenty miutes at the most if starting from scratch and provided u follow the instructions. there have been some queries raised here on the thread, if u do get stuck on something, but i will be here every day to check up on any questions so feel free to ask.
after u have done the whole registration policy, it really is a matter of 5mins a week after that to transfer the players u want into the team. but it does get a little addictive or at least it did for me and i would spend more time than necessary as i treid to stratigize of optimum efficency.

i read that thread u started and i will sign up for ur comp on the weekend.

there are many similarties with those complaints of sorts with foxsports, mainly that some of the ratings were subjective, or inaccurate, and i agreed some times, but its hard to ignore the correlation between peoples gripes with players in their team not getting more points than they should, lolz.

the data system that foxsport uses isnt accurate as i proved one particularly bad weeked for me, but its not grossly inaccurte, so que sera sera.

In the Foxsport list of players I could not find amongst the centers or full backs the name of Jaco Taute.  Neither could I find the name o Damina De Allende (center)

On the list of names is the name of Danie Poolman (wing),  he is not playing for the Stpormers this year - he left SA and is plying rugby ibn Europe.

How can we get the list of Foxsport up to date.

@mikey,

most fo the times foxsport has these problems, it is usually rectified when the teams make their match day team announcments, so it will prob be updated around the time the team is announced if not sooner.

it can be a problem though if ur trying to select him for ur bench inpreperation for rnd2, but there are plenty of other options for that spot, so u can uce taute as one of transfers come the rnd2 pick times.
