I can think of at least two forum regulars who will be a bit red-faced at this news after slagging off Pieter-Steph not just this whole season but pretty much his entire career.

I reckon Pieter-Steph is also a decent bet for Springbok player of the Year when that is announced in February. Moffie and Dim-Sum should get ready for even more egg.
So, Steph being player of the year in 2018 at flank means he really was the best lock in 2015? Interesting perspective.

This is why we are here. Your claim that we are ignorant and biased. You challenged my issues with various aspects of his game, then you cowardly scuttled away. You boldly assert you are too transcendental for anyone to comprehend your glory, but are too shy to demonstrate it. It doesn't stop you running your mouth. Hence the name Squeal. Steph has done some very good work, hence my 8.5 rating for the home Wallaby test. However, there are some recurring issues which I have noted. The Church of Steph don't like that, so Pope Lügnerin has sent for der kleiner Kläffer Rooi to thwart the dissent. It hasn't gone according to plan. Now poor Rooi has cooked up an omlett from rotten eggs. Watching Pip N Squeal at work is truly something to behold.

Sharkbok, Eben is the more important of the two players. Also our most dynamic forward.
Snyman looked fast asleep at the death of the last All Black game when he should have been switched on. 1 tackle in 18 minutes while the other three forward replacements made 16 tackles between them in less than 11 minutes. It remains to be seen whether he's got a big game temperament.
Snyman had a poor game, but I still think he should be our partner for Eben. He was excellent in Wellington, a key figure in one of our breakout tries.
Last quarter of an All Black test is about as big as it gets, but sure, it won't be fair to crucify him on that one performance. Let's just hope we don't see another lame flop into a ruck while the opposition fetcher is winning a penalty right next to him.
I think as the game got frantic our players became sloppier. It won't be easy for him to break into the starting XV though , as Mostert's work rate has been excellent.
Question is...where does Lood feature in all this?
Some tough competition with nobody really plying themselves out of contention.

Problem for him is, that was his home turf and people were looking for his star to rise.
Still, he seems well round, aggressive and a semi decent reader of the game.
Steph is a media darling, which means one cannot speak of any flaws in his performance or general game. He is a good player, making a significant leap this year, but he isn't perfect. He isn't irreplaceable either.
Moz, sure, weak support play from Steph adding to the silly penalty from earlier. Still though, watching it again now, Kolisi seems to get his hands in there with Savea and then Snyman just flops down on top of him taking him right out of play.
That was just a poor sequence from the Boks all round. NZ hands us the ball, Snyman throws a wild offload, Papier decides to start sniping, then the shambles with Koch's carry where the supporting player goes down and the only guy who can get over the ball gets flattened by his own man. Not the finest moments in Bok history.
We did piss that game away.
A lot of the players guilty for that shambolic final bit of the game were noobies though.
It's hard to say the ABs deserved the win. Ultimately though, they did come back from a pretty shitty position and capitalised where they needed to. They deserve credit for that.
My feeling is still that the message in that last 10 minutes should have been "consolidate". Play territory and time!

It was a collective capitulation. Some of those players aren't good enough to begin with. I'd prefer Van Zyl over Papier. He'll play that safer game. Koch for Louw was another mistake. Willemse at fullback was clearly a mistake.

H e was so positionally flawed we conceded a try because he was not where he should have been.
Willemse will prove to be a sen sation at 15 as Steph has proved to be at 7. Yes Du Toit, should he continue this form, will most likely be player of the year. World class number 7.
