Congratulations in winning bearibng n mind that US rsidents will not be happy with him winning against a US player.
The first SA player since 2003 to reach a semi in a Tennis Major. If he beats Busta - he would be the fiorst SA player since 1985 to reach a final. Lets hold thumbs for him.

Great stuff. I hear it was quite an epic match. Unfortunately I could not watch it, but good on him for making it to the semis!

His booming serve (when on song) would almost always give him a fighting chance against the top players. He depended upon it heavily. That's all he was ... a big serve with nothing else to offer
He's added some quality ground strokes to the mix and his work at the net has drastically improved his game.
His big serve is a great weapon to take into a tie-breaker and that's what he used to clinch this match.
It's a pity he's so slow out of the blocks though. A clever player using the right tactics would demolish this cumbersome giant.
Go Rafa!!

The only way Nadal and S\Anderson could meet would be in the final. Before that happens Nadal must beat that 19 year-old Russian and Federer.
Anderson has to meet Busta in the semi - which is probably the easiest match he could have hoped to meet in the semi. However, Busta is ranked 9 in the tournament - with Anderson being ranked 28. However, the rankings have in the main not count for anything = bar perhaps in the case of Nadal and Federer. So lets hope Anderson goes to the final on Friday.

Yes Mike I'm aware of that. Thanks.
I'm a Rafa fan and so I cheer for him no matter what.
Anderson has an excellent chance to make the final. Rafa still has a lot to do to get there ... we've seen him lose to less skilled played at this stage of tournaments before.
I'm hoping he'll keep his focus and meet Anderson in the final.
I'm particulary keen to see how he copes with Anderson's booming serve.

Did you notice the absence of some of the members always set to run down SA sportsmen?

Yes ... it's been rather pleasant.
I wonder what ever became of them?
