agreed, he was very strong with ball in hand. He is fast, but extremely strong on his feet and hard to take down.
He did some offloads which looks like he also has play making potential. Like Sonny Bill Williams and others that are good at offloading, it is imperative to be strong on your feet to be able offload.

Yep he has skill, pace and power....but some of you clowns told me I was wrong about this kid. The way he bounced Skosan and later Brits was something to behold.
When it comes to players I am seldom wrong and when I am I concede as much re Werner Kruger

I like Esterhuizen very much - he is a fresh breath of air after Francois Steyn buggered up the Sharks backline in Super 15.   My only problem with him is he is not the soundest defender out.
He and Jordaan is probably the best cebnter combination that played in CC this year.   It is indeed a pity it took the Sharks so long to come up with that combination.    They buggered around with Esterhuizen - even playing him at 7 and that cost the Sharks dearly.
Was it J ake White's doings?

 Dave,
Yep he is something.
What do you think of the Stormers #14.....never caught his name when I watched the game on TV.
Big strong runner. Would not be surprised if he gets the call from Meyer in the not to distant future.

It is a yougster called Van Wyk - he has played for the Stormers  in Super 15 from time to time on the wing - and was out for a while during that series as a result of injury. he did extremely well in both the Super 15 and CC and is one of the Stormers hot properties for next year.   Strong, fast and clever.

Mike get a bloody grip just because Esterhuizen missed an English centre in the u20 game does not mean he has a defensive issue. Wake up man. His defence is a strength as he smashes players.  Did he miss a tackle on Friday - no

AJ I have been mentioning v/Wyk of WP who is playing wing but played all his age group rugby at centre. He used to play 12 for WP U21 but I reckon he would make a great 13. Big strong fast with good feet.

Not that I have noticed - but he had a few misses the previous week.   I am just saying he needs a bit of strengthening in defense - dont get on your high horse because of that.
