And I quote:

"How on earth did those two muppets (sorry, match officials) miss the early tackle on Julian Savea which absolutely cost a try? It happened right in front of them. Even without seeing it properly, just the change in his running should have told them that something had happened.

Interestingly, I did agree with the chargedown/knock-on call." (That's the one that cost Argentina a clear try)

All I can say to Mehrts is that, if he agreed with the chargedown/knock-on call, he should perhaps keep his mouth shut because that makes him just as much of a muppet as the refs he is criticizing.

Pakie, I read the article but decided not to post it as the wounds were still RAW.
It is surprising that Mehrtens thinks the charge-down/knock on call was correct. I wish he would explain why.

Strange man, Mr Mehrtens. Maybe De Wet Barry smashed into him once too often in that magnificent Ellis Park test.

But yeah, a little more explanation would have been nice. Becs, never mind blinkers, it's clear Mehrtens wears a pair of very dark, if not indeed all black, glasses.

He's a "different type of drummer" bloke as far as I can tell. Several of his articles go against most opinions.

I actually like people who drum to their own beat and challenge the mainstream view. Just hard to take them seriously when they shoot their own foot off like Mehrtens did with his support of the biggest and most blatant refereeing blunder of the weekend.

That call on Habana was unbelievable. It is as if he was looking for a reason to give a card,to create drama.I don't want to say it but I wonder how much investigation had been done in to match fixing in rugby. On both sides of the hemisphere the calls are shocking.

Clancy gets it wrong therefore it is NZs fault as it is somehow linked to the ABs Test vs Argentina? Sorry boys but you had your destiny in your own hands (in this particular instance Mornes hands and the rest of the Teams defense after the ball did not go out).

I would take whatever Mehrtens or Justin Marshall say with LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of salt.

"Clancy gets it wrong therefore it is NZs fault as it is somehow linked to the ABs Test vs Argentina?"

Not sure how you reached that conclusion out of the discussions above Hakwa.
